Do we really need to fight inflation?

When Nixon took the U.S. Dollar off the gold standard (August 10, 1970?), he should have produced an economic plan to avoid this current head on train wreck where we are now. The seeds from this whole thing go back at least to Bretton Woods Agreement The massive exodus of jobs (factories) was...

    Toppy Market ??

Yeah I know. What I'm just saying is that the elements of the next bear market are sown but not yet sprouted.

Do we really need to fight inflation?

Scatty, of course you are correct. But don't be too hard on the guy. He's just repeating what he hears on TV. The MSM is clearly Cheerleading for the FED.

    Toppy Market ??

I rarely have the TV sound on. But today I do. One of the loopy talking heads "Investment Committee" actually said an important backdrop for a bullish outlook are the ubiquitous stock buyback programs. OK, a company can do that with excess cash flow. Great. But if a company is borrowing money...

Vietnamese billionaire sentenced to death for fraud

But you're assuming the rest of the system is totally corrupt as well. Which is the case in most jurisdictions around the world now. Having a corrupt FDA Commish is pretty bad, handing a death sentence to many innocents. When you do that with a gun, it's called murder or manslaughter.

    How to choose a broker?

I wonder how many people posting to this thread were/are brokers? I know Robert Morse is. With him is Mr. Turtle, offering some common sense advice. The rest should really preface remarks with "Although I never ..." Most people just like to hear themselves talk. For most avocations, that is OK...

Vietnamese billionaire sentenced to death for fraud

Less than 15 years ago, the equivalent of FDA Commissioner in China was executed for dishonesty, bribery ,etc. At least, that gets everybody'a attention. What is so bad about that?

    $Silver leaving the station

For sure you are guy with no respect for me. That probably stems from your arrogance. Which negatively affects your trading. Best thing for you is for me to put you on ignore. Maybe you will learn. Stranger things have happened. I DON'T play your kind of games.

If the silver is being used for industrial/commercial purposes, more likely they will DEMAND delivery. Those folks know all about the "naked short razzle dazzle." Silver already has a 2 tiered market: the silver bullion (physical) is several dollars higher than the paper ETF. I think gold is...

    $Silver leaving the station

I have some Morgan Silver Dollars in the kitchen. They offer different grades (based on wear). Mine are pretty sharp still. Now in little plastic cases. Pretty cool to think that was in somebody's hand, pocket, etc way back. Most of mine are 1880-1900. :finger:

    Elliott wave charts & predictions

What I kike the best is to load all the stuff, then flip back and forth the time frames. Different divergences jump out. And I usually use RSI(5) not RSI(14). I started doing that on Tony Caldero (RIP) Anybody here heard of him?

No, I know why I posted it. I've been in brokerage. I've seen loads of bullsh*ters. Brokerage is full of them, like mice in a grain solo. But the guy who runs this MB, doesn't want food fights. So I'll just drop it. Good luck to you SunTrader.

I assume you're rolling in the dough here. Maxinger too. And I have seen hitters. Guys driving//trading Caddy's Jags, They were running the business in the offices. A couple of them had a small dealership. trading balsy cars. ("FU money" before it became famous) *** Long time ago, I remember...

Hey Mike, you have to drop it down a step. Please follow me. The Price is not just the Price. No, it's the Price that buyer and seller agreed on. And it may have happened in multiple trades, unrelated traders. That's why the Volume is significant, but less than the price. *** Back when we used...

Padu, could you please expand on that. And please tell me a little about yourself. I'm just 4 years older than you, 71. Why are you here? This is not a personal challenge to you. Just interested in what your type of skill is. I admire a lot of cultures. The last day job I had was at HSBC Bank...

For all you challenged swing traders and investors, I do think this thing will go "like a bottle rocket". It has the fundies too. Regardless of what the Chicoms and the Ruskies do, electronics are here to stay. And almost NONE of it is recycled. And ever since the days of the Hunt Brothers, the...

    Bullshit

Volume is only good as corroboration of an inflection point, or a reversal. But it is way over-valued. I do think the biggest problem with TA is all the doofusseses on CNBC talking about it, but they never traded their own money with it. People now see it as a way to work from home. a home based...

    Elliott wave charts & predictions

Gerald Apprel was a genius. MACD is a great tool. Back in the day, it was all done by hand, done on a sheet of chart paper. Appel was probably using a mainframe computer (server-side applications), and as PCs became ubiquitous, Appel's vision became one of the best tools of TA. I have Appel's...

    Big Big Energy move

it has nothing to do with charts. You said: "So, they [oil companies] are playing hard ball" I need to see some examples of that. Otherwise you are posting propaganda here, or even falsehoods. Trading/Investing is tough enough when dealing with facts. Propaganda and false statements make it...
