A message to those that are failing....

There seem to be a lot of beginners on ET posting stories about their failure to becoming traders. If you build on a few basic rules it really isn't that hard: 1. Don't try to be an innovator... keep it simple! 2. Start with a strategy that blends investing and trading (i.e. stay away...

    IBKR (Interactive Brokers) getting POUNDED!!!!!!!

Aha, are which books would you recommend I read so that I may cease making "ignurant commints". :D ET actually has a spell checker. Misspelling the word 'ignorant'... now that is a great example of self-reference if I've ever seen one. :p There used to be a time when not every cracker...

    Fertilizer stocks out of favor

This still does not explain why they are correlated. Even if all of their earnings are going through the roof, they would still be different and if there were a direct correlation between earnings and stock prices, each stock would look a bit different (but all would still be going long).

    Fertilizer stocks out of favor

S2007S, what is your supporting argument that commodities are in a bubble? Simply saying that they are doesn't explain a thing. It is certainly true that these AG stock started to slant upward in mid-August when the equities shit hit the fan, so part of the bullishness of this sector has...

I agree 100%. But I don't think it's really the economy per se, but more likely general fear of the financial sector that has kept this IPO from ever getting off the ground. That it is gaining at all is a very goood sign. I could easily see this one turn into the next RIMM. IBKR currently has a...

    Ibkr

I agree, IBKR seems to be a stock that never had a chance to take off after it IPOed. The fact that it is holding its own now, shows that it could certainly take off once the financial fear subsides.

    Trending stocks

Exactly! keep it simple. As Mr. Lane said, "the trend is your friend". You can also add MANT to the list. I think you'll like that stock. POT, MON, CF, MOS are also trending but could undergo a correction if oil continues to correct. I usually use slow/fast stochastics and the 65 and 200 MAs.
