    IB brackets

You just hit your bracket hotkey. If it's a limit you have time...for your buy hit your decrease price hotkey. Say you hit it 3 times, then hit the target 3 times and the stop 3 times, then transmit. I can probably do it in less than 5 seconds, and no chance of messing up if you get the limit...

IB TWS convert stop to market order?

The way I would do it, after you have your stop order in, set up but don't enter a mkt order with the same oca as the stop. If you need to exit, hit transmit on the mkt order and the stop will get cancelled. But I don't use mkt orders anymore. Occasionally on globex when I use mkt orders I...

    Listening to music while trading

I write my own music. I have one which is for thinking, meditating or sleeping. Works real nice for trading, it is all mathmatical and never repeats. It's on my hard disk, but I still need to learn a few things to burn it on a CD, it's not that simple for me. When I get it done I'll send someone...

How do you trade the night session?

No, But I've put my head in my hands and slept right through the open a couple of times. One night I set my alarm for 9:45, then 1:00, then 2:00, then 5:00, then 8:25. By the end of the day I said, "I don't get it profitseer, you made good money today, how come you're so grouchy?"

How do you trade the night session?

I just put it on, then check it every couple of hours. Gotta take that out of whack profit if you get it. Otherwise, you're already in on the RTH open, and then, that is another place to take a profit if it gets wild enough. Nice slow trend though makes for a nice profitable day. I doubt if I...

    Money Management books

Winner Take All by Gallacher makes a mockery of most other money management books. He takes a nice chunk out of Ralph Vince's hide. Of particular interest is his observation that risking 6% on a trade is no more risky that risking 2% on a trade. The money management chapter is quite brief...

    time projections, time triggers?

well, sort of. I put on a trade at the same time everyday, long or short, and no I don't use y axis price triggers except for stops.

    What is a scalp?

My best scalping system entered on a stop for a 1 pt profit. Sometimes my entry stop would be as far as 6 points away from the market. I figured, if it goes six, it'll go seven. I doubled my account in a very short time, then I figured I better be careful and started using stops, and then it...

    What is a scalp?

no, it's not worn out. The thing you need when you scalp is a high hitrate. Makes sense when you figure your profits are small, so therefore you don't have much to work with on the loss side. And commissions are the great enemy. Usually a scalper figures how many times he can scratch and...

    Incorrect Entries?

right, that's exactly what it is. The theory goes, good entries are impossible to hit more than 50% of the time, so you compensate for that failure by using wider stops. Which then increases your loss, so you then compensate for that by increasing your target. And on and on it goes.

    IB's TWS and BRACKET ORDERS

oh man hakee, just set up 2 hotkeys, one for price up and one for price down. Don't mess with that stupid ladder or try to retype. The just highlight the order, hit the price up hotkey (you can set it for 1 tick or or 1 pt or anything, and have as many as you want) and hit transmit.

    Custom Tailored System

All you need is a coin, a tv and a phone. 1. Flip coin, heads go long, tails short. 2. If market moves against you 1 point, flip coin, tails hang on, heads exit for loss. 3. If market moves in your favor 1 point flip coin, heads do nothing and wait for it to move another point in your...

filling ES with Limit order on bid: timings

buy the bid ...you may never get filled. And the ONLY time you will get filled is if the market ticks against you. That's what buy bid means. It means "I want the market to go up, but first I want it to go down and fill me." Man, the ask is the going price you pay to buy. If you want to get...

    S&P 500 long term perspective

The market can't take off unless it first leaves a lot of people behind. Then one by one they capitulate on the idea that before the market can go higher we must first have capitulation.

    Trader's Block

that's right, then you can't wait for the market to open. Makes for a very long weekend. Traders look at the market for a system, but the system is in your head. But when they don't have a good system, they think the problem is in their head.
