Tracking news easily and compact (no TV)

Anyone have an idea of how to track financial news w/o running a TV station all day? I was thinking an RSS feed(s), but maybe there's a better/more efficient way to do this now. I just want something that I can run w/ minimal impact on my screens - just something I can glance at to see your...

    The NFL is back!

Did you guys know Billy B learned all his stuff while in Cleveland? Too bad he was a prick while here and the press feasted on him.

CME: Illinois Tax 'Untenable', Looking South

Not really 'breaking' news there -- this has been discussed on this forum for a few weeks now.

    The NFL is back!

I think (and hope) we will show some improvements this year, but still 1-2 more drafts away from filling the holes. In H&H we trust. Either they got it right or we'll just repeat the process again... So far, very happy with Heckert's drafts.

Soros To Avoid Registering His Hedge Fund

Link to source? I know, ET could care less if you quote your source but when copying and pasting it would be smart to quote your source.

why is the site so slow?

It's bad sometimes - when it happens I just close it and come back in a few hours. Not worth the aggravation of the site just hanging.

fib. expansion and retrace in forex

I think what James is trying to say is, it would be helpful if your charts had more explanations on the chart itself and the chart was easier to read. It's hard to see what is going on. It might help if the charts were broken up into a couple screenshots and zoomed in some. SnagIt is a great...

    Beginer Help on ES

    1) Correct, pattern day trading does not apply to futures. 2) $50/pt, $12.50/tick on the ES. Your math looks good. Numbers grow (or decrease) x the number of contracts being traded. 3) I suggest Open ECry but you should demo a handful of brokers software to get a feel for them and see what you...

Fidelty 401k funds, which do I choose.

If you are going to set it and forget it, just build a nice balanced portfolio of funds. Check out the funds fees online as well. Fidelity also should at least have an 800# you can call to get some ideas as well. You don't have to follow their advice, but at least see what they recommend...

    7/15/2011 - Questions re Friday Afternoon's 30-year action

If it was just that easy all the time, this would be a pretty easy game wouldn't it? While in theory bonds and indexes should be inversely correlated, guess what? Not all the time. That's where the market makes you work for your money. Many markets are correlated sometimes. Some markets...

YM what is the absolute max liability one can incurr in?

The theoretical answer is your liability could be much larger than your deposit. The real world answer is that any decent broker now will have risk management in place on your account so that when it reaches a certain level, they will liquidate your trade and turn off your trading privileges...

    CL Redux

We saw something similar to that a few weeks/months back. Very bizarre to say the least. I believe the last parabolic freak out was a hod test.

what is actual cost of 1 6E contract?

Yes, losses will hurt your account balance for sure. Yes, futures give the ability to trade on massive leverage -- which is why many are attracted to it. If those 2 things are scary, then maybe futures are not the arena you want to be trading in. The selling point / attraction of anything...
