I am convinced that Trading is the best Job

No one is a loser, just some of our trades (our decisions) are. And Michael, it sounds like you've got >50% winners and considering that you are happily married, I'd say that your winners far outweigh your losers:) Happy Living (trading) Adam

How to make sense of electronic trading careers?

I do not have an MFE degree, nor do I work in the financial industry, so I may not have the answers you're looking for. My post was to try to help you work through the process of mapping out what you need to learn. If you can clearly identify what you need to get to your goal, the decisions...

    I don't miss office politics.

Interestingly, I work in government now in a somewhat high profile state organization. I was wondering why I enjoyed it so much... answer: There's no politics (for real) and there's nobody trying to build a corporate culture. Everyone is there because they are qualified and there's none of that...

Why won't this make easy money?

A simple yet confusing observation: In the stock market, when holding the underlying pays credits to your account (dividends), the futures trade at a premium. With currencies, when the underlying pays a credit (due to interest rate differentials), the futures trade at a discount. Why?

Anyone trade through a C-Corp or LLC?

The LLC should work. Just set one up a few months ago and will soon be doing all our automated trading through it. It takes little time and you get all those benefits already listed in this thread. I'm not a pro trader, but would just like to see how these TradeStation strategies I've developed...

    VIX down, markets up

With the VIX at about 12, would the time value of any given S&P option double when the VIX is at 24? Triple at 36? Essentially, how much more expensive are/were options when the VIX was at higher levels?

    Exact 2:1 Leverage?

I see what you mean. I started thinking about this when I observed that 2:1 funds like UOPIX did not in fact make 2:1 returns as you say. Of course, their time horizon is a single day... I'm looking further out.

    Exact 2:1 Leverage?

Actually, you do. I've been thinking and you could purchase deep in the money calls. The time value is almost nill.. and you get the benefit of the leverage.
