if you can turn yourself into a central banker, you can show bullion and paper equivalents as a line item, and lease the bullion out even if you don't have serial numbers on the bars to back it...... if you dont own a bar and a serial number, there is always a chance that you own blue smoke...

pit markets have "out trade" sessions before the next days opening where mismatched orders are settled..... I have had several limit orders filled in such a session and never do I send a market order for pit traded anything...........

G/S did OK today considering..... there's about 20 million oz. of March Silver call open interest from strikes of 9.75 to 11.00 I suspect the trade will do everything possible to keep silver below 9.75 ahead of expiration...

Feb. 7 is the earliest the SEC can give approval to the ETF, so the short side will get less sleep........ metal equities were strong today, even though futures action was thin....... the short side had a great opportunity today to pound silver below stops, but it didn't happen....

just understand that you have exposure to busted trades and if you're a 5 lot piker.....you're not likely to prevail in a dispute

not held meaning "not held liable" I have had COMEX option trades that were cleared by my broker's clearing firm and reported to me by e-mail only to have the exchange late in the day or even the next day cancel the transaction..... the money you thought you had credited to your account...

there are some metals options that will trade electronically starting in March..... CBOT............ there will be 3 market makers so the spread will be something to watch.... making money in the futures market is tough enough....and with the comish on options being so high...lotsa luck...

you might consider (honest) paper trading first.... then put real money into it.... if you cant make it paper trading, oh well most brokers hire former traders to mow their lawns......
