London post-brexit as a financial center

Since you have a basic macro background, serious questions for you. How much does the USA, Canada and Mexico each contribute to USMCA? Do you have free movement between these countries in terms of being able to work, live, travel, retire etc? Do you have a common national anthem? Are u...

London post-brexit as a financial center

Actually most German branded cars are built in Germany. More than half. The rest are as u say built elsewhere. Germany itself exports about 750000 cars to the UK each year. You state a 10% tax on cars being imported into the EU from the UK but fail to mention a similar tariff on the 750000 cars...

Excellent point there btw. Why does anyone care we are leaving? Could it be the loss of money i.e. £10 billion a year? No of course not cause it's only a billion or two lol

London post-brexit as a financial center

Dude, you are just copying nonsense from other sources. You need to learn to read. That is your first priority. £10 billion is the net contribution to the EU annually. We will no longer pay this. Note I'm done with you now. Only a moron would have a problem with peaceful protests in the UK.

ROFLMAO...it's called peaceful protests which we allow here in a democracy. People with placards and flags! Contrast with Paris riots, 8000 riot police deployed, the whole place is burning! You are showing even more reason why the EU is doomed and why the UK needs to leave this...

Lower corporate taxes and other incentives for companies to set up here. 10 billion a year is a steep price for membership.

London post-brexit as a financial center

My points re trade are that we are decreasing the amount of trade we do with the EU and as lovely as friction less trading is, it is not worth enough to the UK to oncur the costs (both economic and social) that i have already mentioned. You are correct in that trade benefits both parties even...

Have u taken into account the exchange rate and the probability of lower taxes in the Uk post brexit vis a vis the EU?

You quoted a number from a guy who quoted a number to make your point so essentially it's your quote too. Btw Mr Rolet is no longer CEO of the LSE. He pulled his quote from his arse i would imagine since there is a slight discrepancy between 230k and 630 ! As for Goldman they are free to do...

Could the next recession begin with the Brexit situation ?

It's not in the EU's interest to enforce no flying between the UK and itself. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-46380463 Flights between the countries operate under the US-EU open skies treaty. The deal with the US is one of nine bilateral air services arrangements secured by the UK to...

London post-brexit as a financial center

Jesus, can't anyone read on this forum? I said the US (yes, your country) is our biggest ALLY. Not our biggest trading partner. My POV has not shifted one iota. You mentioned basically frictionless trade between EU and the UK which would change without a (proper) deal. Is that a positive for...

London post-brexit as a financial center

No, you just don't understand. We want the power to make our own laws, we don't want to subjected to the EU courts, we don't want to pay £10 billion a year to the EU in return for expensive food and other goods. We don't want to bailout the European banks again(we bailed out the Greek ones a few...

Could the next recession begin with the Brexit situation ?

Whatever dude. You know the funny thing is why all these non UK posters are so enraged by the notion that we are leaving the EU. They don't live here or have any economic ties (they could always sell any assets if they owned any). Why the concern? This is after all a sovereign matter for the...

Dude, I hope they all leave. Gonna create plenty of opportunities for UK banks to move in.

But they are building a 9 storey block? Why would u build a 9 storey block if you are gonna transfer everyone to Europe? You can google it: 630 jobs so far have left the City. Expectation are of 5000 by Brexit day. Your quote of 250k is scaremongering. Don't worry, we Brexit guys are used to it.

London post-brexit as a financial center

Guys, i'm just happy we are leaving. No-one has given me a positive reason to stay, just gloom and doom. The EU is about to go into a recession, wants their own army and needs us to bail out their crummy banks. Hopefully we will be out by then.
