You will not agree but your idea of inverses and vol products is not optimal. It is extremely rare for vol to spike as it did in March. Holding inverses overnight is a fools errand.

Look at its 5 yr chart and then tell us what you think. It is programmed to lose value on long term holding. Unless you understand volatility futures stay away from it. You can play it if you can predict a vol spike. But a better alternative will be uvxy.

Very simple. This has always worked for me. When the long counterpart shows a sell signal buy. Short counterpart. Example, monitor only tqqq and when tqqq has a sell signal optionally go long on sqqq. Be modest in profit target on inverse short counterparts. This rule will break on uvxy svxy...

And I must also say this. In the whole of my trading life I have seen 1 news item that specifically told me to short spooz. I didn't do it cuz mkt never reacted for a full minute and then kaboom. It was too late for me by then.
