    s & P 500 High for week in already?

A couple of things. Re: early profit taking at 1256.50 versus potential upside target of 1258-1259. When in doubt book the profit. The fact is the first good opportunity to short intraday was 1257. 1256.50 is a reasonable profit target as if selling hits again you may lose all your...

    s & P 500 High for week in already?

Yes. I'm primarily intraday trading the spoos, but do look at weekly pivots as an idea and do carry trades overnight when appropriate. Having said that I agree with all you say. I enjoy reading your posts. You clearly know your game. Thanks for your comments. Others are welcome to comment...

    s & P 500 High for week in already?

I'm bored. My system crashed last night----Front end only. So while I await a fix I thought I'd do a little real-time journal.

    s & P 500 High for week in already?

Some additional selling at the previous support resistance level here at 14550. But we'll stall for a little and most likely break up into the opening range. For the gap to get filled 1458-1459 would need to be printed.

    s & P 500 High for week in already?

If you missed the short entry on the open the buy/cover at 9:10am may afford a bump into the opening range and a reload on shorts ( for today's trade). Today's trading can be characterized as post-options expiration hangover. Hand me a tylenol, an advil, and a bloody mary please...

Philly Fed Chief Warns That Inflation Is Too High: Rate Hikes Needed

I had that conversation (bull market) recently with a 73 yo retiree playing the markets for 2 years now and giddy as hell he is killing it "risk free." He opined 4 more years up from what I hear. I replied where were you in 2000. Then had you put your money in hard assets and treasuries in...

Philly Fed Chief Warns That Inflation Is Too High: Rate Hikes Needed

(Credit Suisse data shows that there is now a 61% chance that the Bank of Japan will hike rates based on rate swaps vs a 54% chance following last week's release of GDP data). Some analysts are suggesting that the BoJ may raise rates by only 12bps to reaffirm their commitment to price stability...

Will Steorn crash the world's energy markets?

FYI and off-topic: US has no meaningful deposits readily available for rare earth minerals such as neodymium. Guess who: China.

Hedge Funds Invade the Options Markets

FWIW: MM pay for order flow. As do the exchanges. PMM can and do position trade as do CMM's. This is all changing as the industry changes. More transparency. Tighter spreads. Less PFOF. Typically however the money is in the spread and voluma and risk management as always. MM...

    Why people buy breakouts

FYI although slightly off-topic (from Murphy's Intermarket TA 1991) 1. All markets are interrelated. 2. No market moves in isolation. 3. Chart action in related markets should be taken into consideration. 4. Technical analysis is the preferred vehicle for intermarket work...

    Why people buy breakouts

No what is incredible is that you got some bona fide honest truth and you take it the wrong way. As my pappy would say "wouldn't know an opportunity if it hit him in the head."
