MES ONE Lot 2.75 Points Slippage ?

It's even worst then, cause bracket orders are held on the broker server until they gets triggered and forward to the exchange. You have no control on the time it takes once they gets triggered. But again, I saw ES moving many points in like 2-3 seconds. When the shit hits the fan, things can...

MES ONE Lot 2.75 Points Slippage ?

2-3 ticks on ES/MES during high volatility on MKT orders is very frequent. We're not talking about 4.5 pts anymore. ES can move 2-3 pts in matter of a few seconds. I was not in the market this morning when the CPI came out, but the market went down big time in no time.

A single massive options trade fueled a 2% positive reversal in the S&P 500 on Wednesday, says Wells

Well, it's also true for the buyer. Who knows the real intention behind those trades.

A single massive options trade fueled a 2% positive reversal in the S&P 500 on Wednesday, says Wells

If a guy was bullish, it means that the counterpart was bearish. Also, block trades of more than 100k contracts are not that uncommon.

    Catching a falling knife

Uhhh?? You do realize that BTC has lost 66% of its value in the last 12 months compare to 25% for the S&P.

Question to day traders: Which order types do you use on IBKR platform?

"From top of the book", doesn't mean first in the queue. I've made intensive analysis of the way their simulation system works. I wanted to know how paper trading results could translate into real trading results. And I was surprised to see that LMT orders were put at the end of the queue, and...

Question to day traders: Which order types do you use on IBKR platform?

I've never found anything in IB regarding this. As for NT7, Why wouldn't we want the fill not being as realistic as possible?

Question to day traders: Which order types do you use on IBKR platform?

With all due respect, this is totally false. When you place a LMT order on IB paper trading environment, your order is placed at the end of the queue, and stays at the end of the queue until it gets filled. So the condition is worst than in a real trading environment, cause in a real trading...

So... is this rally legit... or a bull trap?

Day traders don't care about market direction. As long as it moves, we're all good!

Exit trades based on mid/last/mark price reading?

LMFAO... This is the best example on what not to believe everything on the Net. Anyone with a little experience on trading (with real money!) can see the flaws in this so called strategy.

Fast Market on CME ES: Market or Marketable Limit?

Market orders don't sit in the order book. You cannot have a sell market order waiting to be filled. Market orders (buy and sell) are matched against orders in the book. This situation is only when the market is opened. When the market is closed, there is an auction mechanism that take place for...

2 Russian gas pipelines sabotaged by CIA? :-)

Btw, the valves were already shut down on those 2 pipelines (but they were still full of gas).

Longtime prop trader says 4% of day traders made decent money

It's 4% of prop trader, which is only a subset of all types of trader.

Longtime prop trader says 4% of day traders made decent money

I see your point, but the stats are showing the average income, including the profitable ones (4%), and the losing ones (96%). It's my understanding that it includes the average income of the ones who had left the party (96%). Unless the stats are only showing the ones making money.

Longtime prop trader says 4% of day traders made decent money

These stats are not in synched with the content of the OP. If only 4% are profitable, it's impossible that the average yearly income (or salary?) is 122k$.

    I keep cutting my winners

Do you have statistics on how cutting your winners too soon reflect in your results? Are you sure you would make more (or any!) money if you could let them run? Or is it just an impression? The goal it to make money, not to make the maximum of money. Letting some dough on the table is normal...

Fast Market on CME ES: Market or Marketable Limit?

Since it's FIFO, it doesn't matter. The first order received by the CME will gets filled. There is no such thing as 'this type of order will be processed before another one'.

Swing Traders: What are your monthly returns?

Not to be disrespectful, but come back after a couple of months. One day 'might' be a bit too early to gain victory. FWIW.

Swing Traders: What are your monthly returns?

People are mixing possible with probable. It's possible to buy a lottery ticket and win millions, but the chances are slim. I'm not saying that trading (not investing) has the same probability as lottery. Debating about what's possible is pointless, cause almost anything is possible. Yes, it's...
