I agree here. How could they control something that is not theirs? The largest oil companies are not in north america, so control over their actions, and all the politics that surround these companies, is very difficult, even impossible.

That and the fact that there is no current substitute, only bridges at best. But then again, the soccer mom on the BP commercial is probably the best consultant.

This is assuming that the long term bull market in oil is a speculative trend, and not a trend based on real supply and demand based on our growing world and supplies in the ground and production capacities. Speculators will ride the wave, but we aren't the sole cause of it.

Every market is intra day tradable. I don't think any one market is better than any other - or else everyone would be there. There's no secret market that's the best.

Yes, today I took a number of longs and got wacked on most of them for the YM. I tried to take small profits, but by the time i could hit the sell button it was already moving against me. Shorts worked well of course.

Moving averages don't mean much...they are just a line on a chart. 200 MA's get blown through all the time.

I'm very bulling on GSF too. I sold out good gains a week ago, but i'm not sure about pulling the trigger again at this point. I took numerous long positions in NBR but i'm in the negative on those.

Easier said than done. For example, Commanche (and a whole slew of others) finding the bottom back in July would have got you killed trading NG, there was a big thread on it. The point is be careful to jump the gun too early.

I too short in a bull market, but This market is just too strong right now to get blasted in your face, scrambling to cover.
