    Windows 2000 Pro vs. XP

Thats not exactly true. If you have the same services running, XP should be just as stable and maybe slightly faster, though probably not noticible. The key there is "same services running". By default, XP has a lot of stuff running that is not really needed by many people or are only used...

    Windows 2000 Pro vs. XP

What you are describing is a downgrade, not an upgrade. XP is an update to 2000. No, you cannot do it without a full re-install.

    Which quote ventor provides API?

emk - I assume you are referring to myTrack - any plan will work, but you will need to have the SDK subscription - $25 monthly

    dual processor charting software

QuoteTracker is multi-threaded and does take advantage of multiple processors. IQFeed stuff is multi-threaded as well, plus the main datafeed component runs as a separate process, so it can easily be split out to run on a separate processor by the OS.

    IQFeed Level 2 problems

you can't get multiple tiers on the exchanges - that data is not available except for NASDAQ stocks or if you have OpenBook. The only other multi-order info is from ECNs.

    IQFeed Level 2 problems

Funky, I got some more info from IQFeed and we are looking into adding the ability to see the various regional exchanges on the Level II window for non-NASDAQ stocks.

    QuoteTracker with IB

the extra layer is right on your computer, not some other server on the internet. The time it takes from the time you submit the order to the time you get filled and notified of the fill can easily be sub-second. You may be able to get a small fraction of a second faster direct through TWS...

    QuoteTracker with IB

Why would the executions be slower? They go through the same TWS.

    Bad Experience w/ Trading Vendor

I'm not a lawyer, but as long as you are stating the truth and do not violating any non-disclosure agreement between you and the company, I fail to see how that could be undue distress, harassment, coercion, blackmail, or libel. You are not saying you are going to lie to tarnish their name. You...

    Intraday Option Chart

some sources support backfill for options. If you use those sources, then you would be able to get multiday intraday charts. Historical charts should work too, but those would use different symbols (Prophet.net's )

    Intraday Option Chart

You can get intraday option charts with QuoteTracker: http://www.quotetracker.com using any datafeed that supports option quotes (most do)

Esignal ain't what it's cracked up to be

Ditch, QuoteTracker does not have its own datafeed. It uses various datafeeds including IB, IQFeed, myTrack, etc... One thing that gives you is the ability to switch datafeeds if you have a problem without having to go to a completely different program.

    IB w/ QuoteTracker

I cannot comment on requirenets for traderguard, but for QuoteTracker, you do not have to sign up for Level II from IB to be able to trade - the trading is not tied to Level II in any way. You can get the Level II data from IB, IQfeed, MarketFeed, Money.net, etc. - It would work in...

    DTNIQ or IQfeed

DTN and IQFeed are the same thing, so its one data feed, not two. We support IQFeed in QuoteTracker and it is very reliable. ensign uses the same thing. I cannot compare it to eSignal though, since I have not used it.

    Windows XP: Home or Pro?

No, he means that if you want to run IB TWS on your home computer and remotely control the home computer from work using the built in feature in Windows XP, you have to get the XP Pro version. I have not actually managed to get the remote control stuff to work because of firewall issues with...

    Windows XP: Home or Pro?

the REDI tech does not know what he is talking about. As far as how programs function on XP Pro and XP Home, they are identical. The only difference is that Home is some features restricted.
