As a retail trader that Thinkorswim does an excellent job in regards to getting such fills which includes price improvement. They use ATD (automated trading desk). If there are better ideas, I would like to know myself.

From the vantage point of the stock price, it means they are "making more money".

March 18, DRL closed at $21.18. Today, DRL closed at $19.13, which I believe is a great buying opportunity again--assuming they already got enough people to liquidate today.
