Spydertrader, if you'd be so kind, if you have a chance - could you post the quick and dirty rendering of today's trendlines. With all the fractal jumping today I have totally lost my bearings.

IMO the red P2 is not Point 2 because the red P3 is not Point 3. And the red P3 is not Point 3 because by time the 15:50 bar closed we see a PA. And WMCN after this PA is known - non-dom movement followed by more IRV. Which is precisely what usually happens after Point 2. Therefore 1550 can...

Count me in. My pattern recognition skills suck. No matter how many lines I draw, the right side of my brain refuses to cooperate. It would be nice to know that there may be a light at the end of the tunnel...

Well, IMO whether or not that bar is decreasing or increasing may be irrelevant - the previous bar was a PA.

If I could clarify - by Points One and Two, I presume you are referring to a channel.

I have annotated a Lateral beginning with 1505 bar. As such 1520 represents lateral BO and therefore the sequence was not completed, hence no permission to seek change.

E.g. I am looking at the up green channel which began as a traverse here: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=2147018 and trying to compare and contrast with today's AM. Just can't see those subtle differences which tells what to expect in each case.

It was a very illuminating post indeed. As it turns out, all the answers anyone really needs reside "in the charts." The learning process resembles the very same dynamic of completing a puzzle. One does not know which piece provides the clarity required to see the entire picture...

If I followed this thought process correctly, then the fact that to establish Point 2 the market broke the green RTL but not the grey dashed tells me which RTL is valid and which one is not. Which takes me back to the morning. It was a channel after all - a red down channel consisting of...

Precisely, I don't even know why I made that comment. Looking at the line up - when the 1520 Outside bar is completed we have to draw a tape, and that tape is a down tape to the Outside Bar. This makes sense to me but looking at the two remaining ways how can I tell which the market...

    Iterative Refinement

It appears that drawing a tape from the Outside Bar produces the result identical to drawing a down tape to the Outside Bar. On the other hand an up tape to the Outside Bar creates an appearance of Point 2 on the low of the Outside Bar due to tape break on 1530 bar. Which obviously is not...

I would like to line these 3 possible choices for annotations up side by side. But my brain is going into overheating - what does it mean "Three posible choices for annotations."?

I need to learn the thought process that goes into being able to find the answers for any day - and I think that's what you are trying to bring across here.
