    1x1 size on NYSE

When they put such a trade together, do you ever notice that it's significantly away form the Bid/Ask, and that if your order was hanging around outside, you could get filled then turn around and cover it to make a quick scalp, or do you find that it just keeps going in the direction of the print?

    1x1 size on NYSE

Do you guys that watch these specialists use the 1x notice any pattern that make for worthwhile trading strategies. For example, if there's big size on the offer, then it goes to 1x1, does anything predictable happen next, like he does a big print on the bid or below?

    Tough question, looking for truth

I've had situations where I directed the order specifically to ARCA and hit the bid and nothing happened. I had to call SLK and they called ARCA and then it got executed. Hopefully, when ARCA and REDI merge, it will be the best of both worlds. I'd hate to see REDI with its instant execution...

    background of trader

If he turns the corner and is up for a better deal, he should first go to his existing firm. "Look, you're taking 40% and have these commissions and this firm will give me 100% and these lower commissions. If you can give me as good a deal, I'll stay, but otherwise, thanks for everything and I...

    Any Hawaii traders?

I'm an early riser, but a 3am start? I'm on the east coast, and have thought about moving to the west for a 6am start. Been to Hawaii a few times and as long as you don't have to deal with Oahu traffic, it's a great place. Would be nice, but 3am? sheesh! Do you guys have families? How do...

    RediPlus Thread

You could do something using the RediPlus API, but it would involve some programming. I don't know how you could do it in the RediPlus native app.

ATTN: All professional/prop firm owners and managers.

You want to be careful with this one. You need to hook up with someone whose style will work for you and if you're a stone-cold newbie, you probably have no idea. Are you a scalper? Sitting next to a T/A guy will bore you to tears. Are you a T/A guy? You won't even be able to follow a...

You should also ask about their finances. For example, how much money do the owners/principals have in the firm.

    Best and Worst CNBC Commercials

The Money out the Wazoo" trade is still about my favorite. "Get this man a private Room! He has money coming out the wazoo!" Every morning I walk around a lake near the house where there are a bunch of ducks and I just can't help thinking "AFLAC" whenever one of them approaches me.

Limit-NX feature on NYSE stocks kills volatility

Maybe that's a situation where someone else is NX'ng from the other side at the same time and the NX system crosses the orders in the middle.

Limit-NX feature on NYSE stocks kills volatility

That's an interesting strategy. When you get to a new high and the offer is x1, do you (your friend), notice what generally happens next? Does the specialist keep it down or does it take off? It'd be interesting to see if there is any rhyme or reason. I know that before NX, the offer...

1.2 cents per share-- Is this legit??

Glad to hear someone got out alive. I sat next to him a few times and it was amazing just to watch him. Wonder if Friedfertig paid off his mansion before the downturn came.

1.2 cents per share-- Is this legit??

Yeah, back when it was 1/8 or 1/16, it was easier to keep track of, but every penny? And I also doubt that those guys are making that kind of dough now using the same style.... Adapt or die... learn from the dinosaurs.

1.2 cents per share-- Is this legit??

If you've ever watched a real pro use the watcher, you could see the benefit. These guys make use of every bit of information on that screen and make big $$$ doing it. At least that was the case when I witnessed them doing it at Broadway 5 years ago. Things may be different now. But, it is a...

FYI, SLK's RediExpress is very similar to the Watcher and designed for NASDAQ traders who want quick keystroke execution like Watcher traders get.
