1800 before 1900. :D edit: was going to say 1800 before 1800.25 but then considered the weekend gap up bear slaughter.. errr scenario :)

    Free online courses in finance

There is no dearth of free online education these days. Just discovered this one today: https://iversity.org/courses/monte-carlo-methods-in-finance This particular course won't start until January, but looks pretty exciting.

    ES Journal - 2013

No clue whether the market will respect it, just trying to respect risk relative to an entry/position. :) Market seems to have a mind of its own. About resistance at ATH, perhaps you are right, dunno!

    TD Ameritrade = Fraud

I've submitted a few bug reports on the charts in TOS and they were fixed.. it just took a few weeks likely due to backlog. Not sure if what you are experiencing is just some backlash from their tech support from your response. TOS must be a beast to maintain.

    ES Journal - 2013

Watching 1121.x Russell futures, 1301.x MidCap 400 futures, ~14910-14920 Nikkei CME futures. The big upper channel resistance line is breaking upward on SPX, SPY, and ES...will use above #'s today as lines in sand.

Swing trade: A 1748 S 1758 T 1665/1660 Trade is valid for this week. Will re-evaluate if it fills at 1748 and goes above 1750. 1758 is a disaster stop. Maybe should move it to A 1758 since that's where the disaster stop is located..

    Murrica's Outlook: Nasdaq & Russell E-mini's

Anything can happen. Noone really knows what the US stock markets will do next. There is no sure thing in this game. Thus, I could be wrong and we might go up from here for months and years on end (and neke will make millions with his bubble exploitation algorithms). That's why we use risk...

    What was your worst beat?

Thanks for this. Glad to hear some real advice based on real experience, along the lines of, "Well if you are going to free solo, here's a strategy to prevent falling off a cliff..." -- very pragmatic.

    What was your worst beat?

Your input is genuinely appreciated, and all very valid -- was just hoping to stay on topic, and not discuss philosophies of trading or investing in the US stock market. Sorry about that! Anyone have bad beats they wish to share? Maybe your internet went out when a flash crash occurred, you...

    Murrica's Outlook: Nasdaq & Russell E-mini's

Next week, watching a few upper channel lines on ES and SPX. Curious to see if the bulls get tired and/or greedy. The first, lower resistance was hit on ES today at the high, and the next is not far above it. Will be watching early in the week to see how the price action shapes up.. we...

    What was your worst beat?

Had a few this year.. 1) The worst one, in terms of missed gains, was getting stopped out on the 30 year above 148 back in spring (even called it in advance on ET!)... put on way too many contracts and couldn't take the heat. Stopped right near the top tick (about 3-4 ticks from the top)...

    Murrica's Outlook: Nasdaq & Russell E-mini's

The noted short term resistances were all busted in the past 24 hours. Took a few shots (last night and today) and took a few stops. Live to fight another day. To me, calling long or short is a *far distant* second to position size and stop loss management. So, in that sense I am...

    Murrica's Outlook: Nasdaq & Russell E-mini's

S&P 400 MidCap Index is sitting right at multi-decade resistance (1280). Good low risk sell entry (meaning you can use a tight stop, not that the trade will necessarily work -- it is counter trend, be cautious of blow-off activity as well). Mini futures currently above 1277..

    Murrica's Outlook: Nasdaq & Russell E-mini's

Currently scoping out some short and long term resistances on various instruments. One or some of these resistance areas might be 'the big turn', given that the ascription of a controlled reversal to obvious linear resistance holds true. Of note on the immediate front: - Nasdaq 100 mini...

    Murrica's Outlook: Nasdaq & Russell E-mini's

The accurate NKD beast action continues. The falling wedge did lead to a nice uptrend for Japan and US markets. We never tested 13,000 and took off right from when I made the call. I need to improve translating the analysis into a workable strategy. A few days ago, NKD did a perfect retest...

The other level to watch for ZB is around 125, assuming we drop hard in the coming days/weeks (i.e. falling wedge continuation). If the drop is a bit later than that, this number would be revised to be slightly higher. For ZB, 125 is a very strong uptrend support level. Will be interesting...

My outlook on bonds has been really off-the-mark thus far since starting this thread. While I was able to identify the short term support levels, each time this lead to a very weak move (just retraces in a longer term downtrend), each being progressively stronger, however.. and now we hit new...
