    Q's Straddle before FOMC

Thanks for the tip. Last time I traded OEX I don't think there was an XEO. (1987)

    Q's Straddle before FOMC

Call leg of (long) straddle is +6.30. Put leg is -4.175. It would have been a pretty good live trade, maybe I'll do it for real next time with a couple contracts. Short strangle so far is about 2 bucks in the red. I haven't scaled in or out of anything.

    Question for option writers

PowerOption is 59.95 permonth for 20 minute delayed service, and 79.95 for real time. They have a free 10 day trial, and don't require a credit card for it. BTW, thanks for these other links, I'll check them out.

Overall strategies - what works for you?

The yield curve is already inverted. It might become more exaggerated after Thursday. Also, one minor point. Writing naked puts is not nearly as dangerous as naked calls. It has the same risk as covered calls, and is slightly less risky than naked stock. (Sorry I didn't anwer your main...

    Market Crash

Jeez, I forgot to add the most important quote from Wiki. (Note to self - brain rot getting worse.) He continued to make money in the bull markets of the Roaring 20's. In 1929, he noticed market conditions similar to that of the 1907 market. He began shorting various stocks and adding to...

    Market Crash

I was exaggerating a bit. He was trading before the 1933 Securities Act, so he would get a group of investors together to go after a single stock or the market, long or short. He would go after biggies like Union Pacific. Here's a quote from Wikipedia: He first became famous In 1907, when...

    Help with these numbers

[I don't know if this is the right place to post this ...] I saw this article by Robert Kiyosaki on Yahoo today. I've seen these numbers quoted somewhere before. ----------------------------------------------------------- Just how much does a fund company make from investors who hang in...

    Advisory Services?

One problem with WP is they only have one trade per month. That's horrible from a money management point of view. Either you risk way too much on the one trade, or your position is so small it's not worth it.

    Q's Straddle before FOMC

Yesterday I put in an order for a long ATM straddle on the OEX, and a short strangle at +/-5, just to see what happens due to the FOMC meeting. I'm also thinking of using the Turtle strategy of scaling out of the losing sides and scaling in on the winning sides. All in TOS's PaperMoney of course.

Any advice on Colorado? Careers, economy?

Isn't the CIA moving to Denver? If so, that might stimulate some business growth, but it would take a few years. Is there still a drought problem with the southern 1/2 of the state?

Yeah, wasn't thinking about in & out (except with Maria). BTW, does Crammer ever recommend when to exit?

give me odds on Cramer being yanked off CNBC by the end of the year..

Does that include commissions? At Fido $8 per trade that would be nearly $7000.

Would you let McMillan control your money?

I would consider 3-6%/month pretty damn good. I'm looking to be able to do that myself, even 1-2% per month. Is that what you are doing? The Hedge Fund in question didn't do much better than bonds in two of the past three years, low double digits in one, and is down slightly YTD. Edit to...

give me odds on Cramer being yanked off CNBC by the end of the year..

I've never tracked his picks, but I read some magazine article that did and his results weren't that great. Personally I can't stand to listen to his yelling. I've tried the mute button but he still somehow manges to get through.
