    trade bust on comex

Thats the exact reason why you should only use limit orders. Especially if you're gonna try and trade the switches, sometimes an arb house may have an interest and provide liquidity to you to keep the mkt going. Just a thought.

PC took long time to boot up, help please.

Some free software you may want to run, which is actually good free software- 1. CCleaner - nice little utility to tidy up your system 2. Spybot - nice little program which can find bad stuff that some websites put on your pc. Read instructions carefully though.

    trade bust on comex

You need to ask for an explantion, from your broker AND Comex Compliance section. Take these steps- 1. At the time of your order, figure out the spot price of gold. Gold settles on a T+2 day basis, then calculate number of days to the FIRST delivery day of the futures contract from spot...

30:1 leverage overnight in equities? Like NYSE listed stoks? IMHO, I think regs only allow 2:1.

HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY - trading room 34 bloombergs

True, but if you show a kid at Hofstra a room filled with b-berg terminals and dont tell him trader jobs will be very hard for him to get, as top tier firms dont recruit there, isnt that kinda misleading?

    Overstock.com Fights Naked Shorting

If you step back from the personalities, I think its a very fair question to ask why a broker allows anyone to be a naked short and maintain the naked short, while the rest of us need to abide by the rules. Secondly, I think someone owes the OSTK guy a public and rational explanation as to...

HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY - trading room 34 bloombergs

Cope- If you think a college grad doesnt benefit tremendously from working at a Tier 1 firm for 5-10 years, you're very mistaken.

HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY - trading room 34 bloombergs

Umm, you should go do a google on how many kids GS, etc recruited from which schools. Having 30,40,50, 1,000 b-berg terminals wont change their recruiting efforts.

    Overstock.com Fights Naked Shorting

The 4 million naked short, implies 'someone' bought them, so the seller could be short. I'd guess the long would try to sell his shares to the buyout. Novel approach to have more shares tendered than the company ever issued!

HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY - trading room 34 bloombergs

Why bother? With these SATs, no serious firms will recruit there for good jobs - Hofstra Average SAT scores: V 535 M 535 Baruch - average SAT scores of 1107 Maybe they intend to recruit techs who have seen the system, not traders.

    Crude News Dump

I think VLO processes Venezuelan crude, which is heavy. Venezuela has also begun a political journey of trying to sell of their US asetts and has said they would like to stop selling crude to the US. Valero would be the prime loser in all this - so - lots of reasons not to own Valero. Just MHO...
