QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

if you are using the same login, and it works on one and gets the failed connection on the other, it would usually be a firewall or some other security software blocking access. Try explicitly excluding QT, or just forget that and get MT beta :)

Does anybody know if QT will still work with the Optionsxpress data feed?

It works but you need to have the last patch, since TDA removed the source otherwise

IB API: High latency of reqContractDetails() call for option chains

Well, not quite. In computer time, 50 seconds is an eternity. I am not just complaining about performance without a point of reference. I can get the same option chain from TD Ameritrade, Yahoo, Tradier, and IQFeed in a fraction of the time, so I know it can be done.

@kralcd, Medved Trader was written from scratch. The layouts/charts stored in QT cannot be used in MT. however, it doesn't take much to configure everything and you should find things pretty comfortable in MT especially if you used QT previously. IB is fully supported. To get the beta, you...

You cannot write your won indicators in QT. However, MT has that indicator already.

John, I strongly suggest you remove that attachment from the post As far as the patch, the only file you need to open is the patch zip file to extract it. After that, you just need to copy the files to the QuoteTracker folder. you do NOT need to open any of them.. If you have a problem with...

IB API: High latency of reqContractDetails() call for option chains

Getting a full option chain from IB API does seem to take unusually long, especially considering most of the other functionality is very snappy and same type of a request from most other datafeeds is very fast. Have not gotten around the issue yet, so if you find a way to improve, please post.

by default it would be something like: C:\Program Files (x86)\QuoteTracker or on 32 bit systems: C:\Program Files\QuoteTracker

QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

you would need to close QT, then extract contents to a temp folder (do not extract direct to QT folder) Then copy the files from the temp folder to QT folder, overwriting the existing files

QT would need the patch to get it to 3.9.8a that was posted here a while back

John, if there is a problem with the annotations, it might be symbol specific, so if you encounter it again, email us - remember that MT has automated backup, so we may be able to use that to recreate the situation.

John, that should be automatic. If they are not there, it is probably a problem. Email support and we can go from there.

James, QT used Stockwatch's old way to specify symbol exchanges so most likely the symbol is not properly specified. Don't remember the details there. You would be better off just getting MT for use with Stockwatch. You do not have to do anything fancy to specify symbols (Just the symbol for...

you have the ribbon Hidden. Click on the Show Ribbon button. NOTE: once the ribbon is visible, you can right click on the frequency button and select to add it to Quick Access Toolbar. In which case the frequency dropdown will show on the caption, even when the ribbon is hidden

@Appleseed assuming you are referring to MT, there is a Frequency dropdown on top left - on the ribbon, MAIN tab. You can also use keyboard shortcuts - CTRL+1, CTRL+2, etc.

its the same indicator, on the chart twice. On the main chart, you see the green at the top, red at the bottom. On the top chart, it is on its own and I just made the top indicator panel very narrow, so it almost overlaps - it is still drawn green on top, red on bottom, but this way the...

don't know about QT (have not touched Paintbars in a while) but in MT you can have the indicator either on the main chart or as a separate indicator above or below the main chart, and just make it narrow. Here is an example: Same can be done for most indicators
