The Latest AGW Wacko Claim: Global Warming is going to destroy the Internet

Whew! You had me worried there for a minute. I've read stories that it might be the TPP that was going to destroy the internet.

I have bought Al Brooks' Trading Course

Just to get back on topic, Brooks spends a great deal of time on this...in fact, an entire book!:)

http://www.forexfactory.com/market.php?s=dba99d2a40f7219ce44955436dd2cacd At the bottom of the chart, the thin grey lines are the session times. This might help, though I didn't check all the sessions they list (I'm getting ready to head out momentarily), but I think London is one of them. I...

I need to stand corrected on this post. I set up an app on a tablet, and went back through all my trade defaults and preferences at Oanda, and discovered they had added a feature to determine what time I want the daily chart to begin. I now have my Oanda charts and TS charts in alignment.

I have bought Al Brooks' Trading Course

Brooks teaches how to read charts the way he does. It's up to the reader to use that to his advantage or not, on whatever time frame that fits the reader. It really is just that simple. If he was trying to sell a holy grail, he'd be charging thousands, not hundreds. It amazes me that...

I have bought Al Brooks' Trading Course

Have you considered this? Send him an email regarding his P & L, and see what he sais to you if he responds. Just tell him you'd be more interested in his approach if you had evidence he is successful. It can't hurt to ask, or have you? Would you believe whatever he told you? I mean...

The cause of why price moves (not counting short term imbalance) could require an incredible amount of research (depending on the instrument, of course), whereas the movement as a result of the cause would have less variables to deal with (IMO), especially if it is a repeating visual charting...

I have bought Al Brooks' Trading Course

Here's another one that I haven't seen here yet, but it's actually mentioned at a stock exchange acronym site I came across. Would apply to longs (including inverse ETF's for shorts who don't want to use margin.) :) Buy on Breakout.

I get the impression from him that there is no knowable outcome, only probability that one outcome may be more likely than another given conext, and that such a probability can change in an instant.

He's not concerned and cares not, which is why I couldn't agree more with your 2nd paragragh. My goal is pure objectivity. Not there yet, but making nice gains, to use market terms. Regarding your question in 3rd para...oio..are both outside bars bear, bull, or 1 of each? Is the inside bar a...

I have bought Al Brooks' Trading Course

This is the most challenging aspect of trading to me right now...still occasionally refusing to see or believe what I see. I will often forget to look at what is in front of my eyes right now, including context. That's one of the best ways to become...trapped (I often think of the term...

I have bought Al Brooks' Trading Course

I have seen that abbreviation used for Bearish or Bullish Outside Bars, though if that is the definition you are looking for, Brooks doesn't use that acronym for outside bars, though has several pages on outside bars, covered the most broadly in his "trends" book. In case anyone is interested...

I have bought Al Brooks' Trading Course

OK. One last post. Surf, my friend, I didn't buy Brooks because he promised I'd make money. I became familiar with his work through Futures, a respected trading magazine. His approach seemed different than what the other Gurus and high priced courses of the past had to say or offer. I...

I have bought Al Brooks' Trading Course

+1. I did some Pristine courses, and also learned from those and hundreds of books (from Nissan candlesticks to books on every indicator you can put on a chart), but the real lesson comes from the PAIN! Mine wasn't quite as large as yours, but I ate 4k in the same number of days when I...

I have bought Al Brooks' Trading Course

Taking stops without emotion would achieve that, wouldn't it? Knowing where to put them is a personal preference. Trade management is also a big issue, all of it covered amply in his books. Pristine courses, though expensive, often said a good loser who is also a good winner will triumph...

I have bought Al Brooks' Trading Course

That's true. I spent about an hour per day, and it took me 6 months, but it didn't hurt having looked at charts for a decade, but never considered so much of the way he looked at it. It's important to accept losses emotionally, and he doesn't really get into that except to say hard stops are...

I have bought Al Brooks' Trading Course

I don't dispute any of this, except I don't agree that he only focuses on "winners". I was jesting a little with V about selling the material. Regardless, in his books he shows ranges and trends (an entire book on ranges, which of course contain smaller trends), and states who is possibly on...

I have bought Al Brooks' Trading Course

Would we have bought his material if he was going to show us all the losers?:D Best to remember there are two sides to the trades. They are winners to some, but losers to others, and others are probably scaling one way or the other. I like to think that by him showing us the higher...
