Why has he not been banned? All he does is troll with negativity. Any kind of claim of success he flames. I'm all for harassing the scamming vendors, but jesus... if anyone makes a post saying they had a winning year or a winning day, hell, often a winning trade, he'll zero in on it and call...

    ECN ticker codes and symbols

Are you 100% sure C is NSX? I so rarely use that exchange (it's the smallest/most useless market center out there) but I was quite sure it prints D, and that the CHX/CHSX/CHEX venue prints C. Have you entered a marketable order on NSX and watched it print C?

When filing out schedule d tax form do you round off the numbers for stock price sell

If you round it off from 229.587 to 230.00 you're listing a HIGHER sale price which will result in you paying more tax. Don't see why you'd want to do that. If you round against you're giving more money, if you round in your favor it might be fraud but I know nothing about taxes. I can...

    Genesis/Lime HFT incubator wish list

The comms seem steep for HFT type trading. I can't imagine too many HFT edges that won't be eaten away by paying .0005

What does "volatility" mean to you?

I see what you're saying. I expressed it that way because just saying variance in price would not be sufficient; variance in price to me just mean that the best bid/offer changes; whenever the quote changes, price has changed. Volatility results not only in more quote changes, but in a wider...

What does "volatility" mean to you?

Philosophically, it means uncertainty and fear. Mathematically, I'd define it as the amount of variance of the range of price.

    explain 'scalping' to a newbie

I ended up getting sucked into this argument foolishly. Flexing my muscles to a negative Nancy type troll on here is not productive in anyway. It's that kind of mentality that can ultimately lead to me having a blowup day; this thread is reminding me I need to keep my ego in check. "I have to...

    explain 'scalping' to a newbie

No, you just don't understand market dynamics and microscture and are clutching onto straws as you've been (yet again) publicly proven a fool. Explain how I'm dreaming? Or how just so far today I've made the spread on size and gotten rebates today over 20 times with only 2 one-cent losers...

    explain 'scalping' to a newbie

Uhh the part saying retail traders can't enter limit order ECNs (which is what he says... not being able to earn the spread means not being able to place limit orders on ECNs).

    explain 'scalping' to a newbie

I simply stated what has to be done to give one a chance of earning the spread and what events must transpire in order for it to workout successfully. I made no comments as to the probability of one earning the spread in a given situation.

High Frequency Trading: Can Any Stock Replace Citigroup?

Yesterday was sick. The news of C's death brought great volume to the stock making it great to trade, though a lot of people who averaged into it (works on a lot of days, when it doesn't you take a rip but it doesn't have to blow you up... still not my style) got creamed. +1117 on 872,130...

    explain 'scalping' to a newbie

Uhm. If the bid is 15.01 and the ask is 15.02, you can place a limit BUY at 15.01 and a limit SELL at 15.02. You are now on the bid, and on the ask. If you go to an ES broker and bid 1280.25 and offer 1280.50, you will also be trying to earn the spread. When you post 1280.25, say, 10 lots...

High Frequency Trading: Can Any Stock Replace Citigroup?

Absolutely not. Things can mimic it on 1/10th the scale perhaps, but there won't be another stock with an average inside quote of over 3 million shares on each side of the market.
