    Hard Stops vs Mental Stops

huh? I have an out and when price gets there I use a market order to hit out or intelligent order execution decision to work my way out... i don't just put in an order that will go off based only on a print at X level going off

    Hard Stops vs Mental Stops

I scalp and sit all day at the screen and always use mental stops. I don't really know any professional scalpers who actually use stop orders except to manage a position trade they want to not watch, or when they go out to lunch in a position trade. The whole thing about "a disciplined...

    Institutional Trader Career

The institutional trader doesn't try to manipulate the market so the customer gets a better print whilst the institution takes on infinite market risk. It's the opposite. Institution buys up before filling the customer buy order, then cashes in by filling it... not institution posts fake size...

    U a Scalper? Daytrader? Intra-day trader? Fader?

I think it's pretty clear which catergory I fall into... what made you make the change? To me it seems market are 85% chop, might as well just bank it slowly in that and give up a little and punch out when when it's trending and I can't catch it. I'd love to hear more about your experience...

    Trader P/L 2010

Had a girl break up with me mid-day via phone and I went on total tilt and lost $500. I calmed myself and came back... well, actually I came back angry and posted a lot of size, and I was able to make back about $200 of my losses. I should be up a G. Disguisting...

    U a Scalper? Daytrader? Intra-day trader? Fader?

I give a hint. My transaction costs are NEGATIVE usually since I try to earn ECN rebates. I also try to buy the bid and sell the offer and make the spread. So the inherent negative expectancy of daytrading is actually my positive expectancy. Of course I usually don't get to buy the bid and...

The new SMB 5-year career path program

It's a scam. The lifespan of a daytrader is 1-2 years MAX. I've been at this over 3 years and I'm still plugging along, I know a few people who've been in it for a decade, but the reality is 95% won't ever make money, of the 5% who do, maybe 3% will barely be above poverty... 1% will make good...

    Trader P/L 2010

Too much size, so I had to hit out early instead of following my trading plan. Would have been positive in the stock I lost $700 in had I taken half the size (like I've been doing last 3 weeks)... undisciplined losses here.

    U a Scalper? Daytrader? Intra-day trader? Fader?

Cancel all bids, cancel all offers, cancel best bids, cancel best offers, cancel last order... buy/sells are different destinations, order sizes (one set does position size, the other does tier size)...

I have a very insane layout. My fingers are long so I can reach keys many can't, but shift Q,W,E,R,T,Y are my cancels, shift A,S,D,F,G,H,J,K are my sells, shift+Z,X,C,V,B,N,M are my buys, CTRL+A,S,D,F,G,H,J,K are also sells, and CTRL+Z,X,C,V,B,N,M are also buys. Shift + ; and shift + ' are...
