Yup. I am not shorting it but look at the Q3 results: Yes they made $1,069,989,000 ($3.38/share) but at the same time they diluted sharehoders by 1,107,000 shares which is $787,077,000 (at $711). This makes earnings at around $282,912,000 which is just $0.89. That's right just 89 cents.

Exactly. Lots of people think this way. Couple of warnings (look at semis for example) and they are done. May be close to january/February though when credit squeeze will start to show up on reports.

GDP report is total BS. Look at it yourself: http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/national/gdp/gdpnewsrelease.htm (scroll to Table 4) Inflation dropped from 2.6% in Q2 to 0.8% (yes below 1% y/y) in Q3! If you use Q2 inflation GDP is 2.1% and if you use Q1 inflation 4.2% GDP is 0.5%.
