I would tend to agree, but people laugh when I suggest they trade just 1 share of a $25 naz stock when they are beginning... Of course you would never be profitable trading one share at a time, but you would (IMHO) learn a lot about your emotions and order types and entry mechanics, etc...

I've followed Cram's option trades over the years. Hard to not laugh out loud most of the time. He claims to have been, at one time, the largest option trader and to have invented the term "Strike Pin". Truly a legend... :p
