I think that was just an explanation on how to make trade-ideas work with a pre-defined list of stocks.

more you want it - lesser of your chances

Have you ever read about psycho-cybernetics? Take a look at http://www.trading-naked.com/library/EmotionFreeTradingBook.pdf if you get a chance... very good read imo.

    Better to Predict...or React?

I will agree with that... I'm sure everyone has an opinion on this, and I'm sure most of them differ. Apples and oranges...

    Better to Predict...or React?

I personally try to keep any directional bias out of my mind... I let the market tell me what I should be doing. Keep in mind, it's always right. Good Trading

Hey RXIS, I was able to ge long at 68.20, stop at 67.87. I peeled off 1/2 at 69.20, waiting until EOD to dump the rest.

The entry was on the 5th candle. The 4th was a reversal bar (against the trend is good enough), and at one point during the 5th candle it crossed the high of the 4th candle's body. That was my entry. I am still trying to decide whether a very close stop is good, or a bit of a wider one...

Ok, here's how I was stopped out on MRVL. This is why I wonder whether it's best to wait until the price has risen past the previous candle's body, or shadow... or to even wait until the candle finishes. I entered on the break of the 4th candle's BODY high, and was later stopped out while...

Yeah, but imo, once I have the stop in place I don't like to tinker with it. If it hits it, then I know how much I've lost and planned for it... if not you can take profits or scale out until the end of the day (or longer).

Nice trade ilganzo. I hear you on posting bad trades... I will try to post some really nice setups that ended up failing. I do notice though that usually it is very hard to spot what went wrong on the trade... and frankly if you didn't do anything wrong yourself, then maybe we shouldn't...

Whew... what a day! Ended up making over 20% ROI. Total of 14 trades, and only 3 losers. I'll post a few charts of the winners. This one was the best of the day.

Well, today turned out to be my worst day so far with the dummies. Ended up down about 2.9% ROI for today. These sideways days on the indices tend to be the bad days for this strategy... obviously because you're odds of getting stopped out on both longs & shorts are greater. Today I ended...

Are you guys putting your stops very close to the other end of the setup candle, or are you giving it a little more room? I've been giving the stop a bit extra wiggle room (usually no more than 1.5% risk), but I'm wondering if I'm better off keeping it closer. Any thoughts?

Thanks DT, I'll try to post my parameters once I seem to have them optimized, and once I've used it for a decent amount of days to make sure they're giving good signals.
