Exit 85.50...a bit late on the trigger... In general not the best time to trade so close to the open of course. Lets see, what the RTH session brings... In general we still have a higher timeframe reversal (60M) at the lower channel line...

You mean a RET to the DL after the break? I'm still in with an entry at 84.75, which was immediately after the first push. The cleaner entry would have maybe been 85.50.

We see a push now. Does this stall at the top count as a retracement?

If one does not consider to trade the range, which seems wide enough, we look for a break out of the range and a retracement.

Thanks a lot, DB - also Niko for his posts and questions... DB, I would like to ask you in terms of the value of macro trendlines. I don't mean channels here, just the simple common lines as used on a micro level, but maybe on 60 min or higher. As the micro or intraday trading context or...

You mean after the break down at 10:31, which failed, it came back and broke the apex, which indicates more sideways movement?

Chop, really typical for this time of day. I noticed it time and time again that 10:30 is not the time to trade. 10:40 to 50 is usually better. But it's just an observation. DB, what did you mean with "Hinge takes to long"? Wasn't there a clean break up at 10:19 roughly?

Thanks, I meant the Interactive Brokers Booktrader, the DOM for quick order entry. I use Sierra Chart for both. Btw, if anyone knows another source for IB backfill data which is more detailled than the usual 30 second backfill, that would be great. In terms of replays this is really not...

Db, it might be a stupid question, but do you actually trade with the investing .com charts? Maybe in combination with the book trader? Or do you only use them for demonstration purposes? I find it somewhat relaxing when I was watching at work. For the real realtime fluctuations the IB DOM...

Bride of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

I just wrote down some facts in terms of the method which should lead to a positive attitude and outcome over time if the basics are applied correctly. Maybe there are a few more - and maybe some of them go beyond the lines stuff, but I decided to post them here - for whoever they might be...

After the test of the 50% of the upmove - which could now be interpreted as a false break out of the 60M hinge - we are currently at the midpoint of that hinge... Buyers seem to be strong and DLs can be fanned - to dive back into the scope of the thread (sorry DB).. :-)

I don't think that it is really recommended to trade timeframes this low and then take a nap. If you read DBs threads he elaborates a lot on staying active and don't just let the stop be hit. At the end, your trade is just a small loser with the break of the supply line or said in another...

Bride of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

This is absolutely true. My problem today was that I held some of the trades for too long. I took number 7 and 8 niko marked. Number 7 I realized in the trade, that price had a hard time reaching the last high (after it failed to reach the channel top before). So this was minor loss for me after...

Bride of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

This parabolic fall stuff - or lets say a very steep demand line in that case, to stick to the scope of the thread - is something which I try to get used to in terms of staying out of the chop. As DB stated before, there is a lot of potential for retests which could lead to overlapping swings...

0914: RET Entry leaving the chop?

Thanks DB, actually I meant the break of the supply or demand line of the move towards the upper or lower limits. The thing is that if one decides to trade the range, which might be 6 or so points wide, then there is not much room for a retracement entry.

I posted this in the bride thread, but as DB correctly mentioned, it has to be adressed here: After yesterdays trendday the borderlines of the forest might be quite close together. But who knows... Yesterdays low was already tested, we have a current top of the range at 33 and another 50%...

After yesterdays trendday the borderlines of the forest might be quite close together. But who knows... Yesterdays low was already tested, we have a current top of the range at 33 and another 50% level at 50 to the upside. The next levels to the downside I see are 3300 and 3287. In terms...
