Please help if you can, support via IB not great up to now

Thank you for your time and help. The search feature does not help here. I link IB with trade ideas, also I day trade many different stocks, which means I am adding random stocks all day. So your above fix will not help, as I need to quickly type in ticker symbol and trade asap. As I said...

    Market depth/Nasdaq level 2-3

Do mind replying more on this: "the fact that one can use hidden order but chooses not to is valuable info." But at this point it's too late right? "while you can’t see hidden orders on the books, you can see trades on time and sales." What do you mean here? "where top of the books good...

    Market depth/Nasdaq level 2-3

What is the point of this data when there are so many hidden orders? Also, many day traders will have stop market orders which we can't see until they are hit! So my question is, does anyone actually use/pay for Market depth or Nasdaq level 3 data? If you do use the above please explain how...

    Shorting the VIX

I don't get it? I am short from around 60 ish, if it goes up I hold, but as always it's going down. Even if it goes up I still hold, as it always comes back down pretty fast. Margin wise I am covered as long as it does not go to 200, VIX at 200?! hopefully not

    Shorting the VIX

this would be true if trading the VIX futures/options right I am talking about trading it via spread betting here in the UK. It's a very big here SB, has been for 30+ years. We get to trade the VIX spot/cash. You have to be from the UK is the catch, also it's tax free!

    Shorting the VIX

not sure what you mean last 30 years the most it has stayed over 50 is for a few weeks. Means you shorted it every time it hits the 50 area over the last 30 years you would have made. Not once would you have lost, as it always came back down within weeks. Why would the VIX spend more than a...

    Shorting the VIX

but you can't in my example, read my OP. I said once it's over 50 how does a short not work? as it always comes back down sooner vs later

    Shorting the VIX

if I can trade the actual VIX spot/cash how can short lose money? The VIX always comes back down, never does it stay over 50 for too long. Even if it spikes to 100 it still comes back down pretty quick How does a short lose?

    Shorting the VIX

what do you mean cost to keep it rolling? via spread betting here in the UK If I am long at say 15 I can just hold that until it spikes.

    Shorting the VIX

It's not about where it goes next, it's about it always goes back down long term. Long term is actually wrong, the max it has stayed up is a few weeks, hence why I say a short is a sure bet. Of course it may spike up more, but that is not my worry. As long as I know it comes back down. The VIX...

    Shorting the VIX

on a side note, every time it has gone into the 10-20 range it seems like a long position will always make you money at some point. as it does not really go under 10 and as long as you hold your long position it's a matter of time before it spikes up. Again what am I missing here? ty

    Shorting the VIX

in the last 30 years every time the VIX has got to the 50 area it has gone back down pretty much soon after. See my chart in my op. just before 2009 is spiked to just under 100, but within weeks back under 20, which it is in the process of doing now. Any time it is in the 50 area it seems you...

    Shorting the VIX

well I can because I am in the UK and we have something called spread betting. So they let you short or go long the spot/cash VIX. See link below .... https://gyazo.com/f38be0cbcb6cb6d19c2c3969d321d806 are you saying you can go long the VIX or short it, but when it spikes there is no volume...

    Shorting the VIX

Maybe a silly question, but how can you not lose when shorting the VIX.... https://gyazo.com/d943eba909b7a88482b2b3dd6610ca21 (VIX Weekly chart) It always comes back down sooner vs later, so what is the catch? Thank you your time and any help.
