Thank you for so many constructive responses.
I have been reading them and weighing all suggestions.
Right now I mainly trade NYSE stocks, not futures. I do follow the futures however.
I use time and sales functions, fixed quotes, interday 1 minute charts and daily charts.
I have...
Obviously they spend a good deal of money on PR because as soon as this post was created they sent chuck on my thread to perform dammage control and PR functions.
Thats better PR response than most presidents get..
I wonder how much that costs.
Back to the point.
When I find...
You people were 100% unprepared for NYSE becoming automated. Everyone knew that unless esignal did something it would run into major problems.
You guys were having problems before NYSE became automated and once it did it became a wreck.
I know you are just doing your job, but the truth is...
I have had it. Years and years of torture at this pathetic performance!
Charts are nice... Everything is nice.. except one thing.
When the market has heavy volume, esignal slows down to a crawl...
Its been this way for years and calling them over and over again fixes nothing.
All of...
I have to laugh at how involved this president has been with the stockmarket in contrast to others.
He has no problem jumping in the sandbox with hard-earned taxpayer money.
The truth is Bush (and his crew) have made so many wrong and irresponsible desicions, do any of you feel secure...
"Fed now confuses the stock market with the economy"
LoL. Yeah you got that right.
Tax payer money hard at work supporting the market.
I read that report by bernanke, and did not put much credence into it. At least not a reason to move the market that dramaticaly. But you guys are...
Yesterday we had a very nice rally.
Today the government report is officialy released.
We all know almost every big institution on the street has access to these numbers ahead of time. Hence yesterdays buying.
I pose this question to my fellow traders.
Is this illegal activity?
Dude.. Im not denying it was good volitility and awesome for trading. What I am saying is that what happened was blatantly illegal . Stock went down 35% a day before the official news was released.
How inefficent is the SEC that it cant do diddly about it?
What a farce. Its a shame.
"It was legal prior to the depression."
So what? There was also no electronic trading where millions of grandpas and grandmas base their retirement on the movement of these stocks.
There is a reason that these rules were put in place. To protect the little guy.
Or maybe Im wrong...
Oh so the SEC changed its stance on insider trading!
So all you have to do is tell the truth that you did trade with insider information and its all cool?
come on....
Please look at the chart.
Stock went from 44 dollars to 26 dollars in a matter of hours yesterday. Then they come out...
IOC just came out and released its report about 5 minutes ago.
How blatant is this case of insider trading?
Price dropped 30% before the news was officialy released.
SOMEONE NEEDS TO GO TO JAIL!
Ok. Insider trading realy hurts honest traders like you and I. And yet they only do cosmetic arrests like martha stewart. Who cares about your 3k shares martha? Not me.
Well enron had to go down. No choice about that. But did they realy have to take down every pension with them? Dumping...
A 20 point move in the futures would do little to deter the frontrunners. I think a good 30 point more drop is needed in the S&P to give the RUSSELL reconstitution frontrunners a solid shakeout.
Right now theyre just sitting back and doubling down.
Exactly.
The middle class and poor class are not better off than they were during the 90's.
They do not invest in the stock market generaly, and thus are exposed to higher energy costs, food costs, while wages remain relatively low.
