IBKR opens @ 50 or so.

No. In most dutch auctions, nobody gets the full amount at the end because the final price never ends perfectly on the number of shares offered. Because when the final price has more than enough shares than needed to compelete the 40 million share offering and more, everyone at and above...

IBKR opens @ 50 or so.

Bidding higher doesn't matter as long as all bids were above final IPO Price. Everyone only got allocated 25-30%.

If this is any indication of the IBIPO

Wow, I guess there was huge bids at 30.01. I just checked my email and I got the allocation email.

If this is any indication of the IBIPO

It says 30.01 on Yahoo but in the IPO Auctions, it says $30 for Allocation Price. This is crazy for such a small allocation on a Dutch Auction unless the final price had a huge number of shares greater than all the share above that final price.

If this is any indication of the IBIPO

It looks like most people were allocated 25-30% of requested shares (rounded to the nearest 100) of the size they bid for. There was most likely a huge number of bids at $30 so to fill everyone at $30 and above equally percentage-wise, everyone had a reduced number of shares. The good...

Do not use tradelog for your taxes

You are correct in that IB's schedule D does not account for wash sales. I have elected Mark-to-Market years ago and the wash sale rule does not apply to me.

Do not use tradelog for your taxes

I can't stand all the current tax programs that charge based on how many trades you make. $300+ a year is a joke. I used Simply Track for the last 2 years http://www.vbssol.com/index.html Cost is $50. You can download and test out the software, the only limitation is that you cannot...

With your leverage, it just takes one loser to finish your account. And it will eventually happen. Good Luck!

IB waaay behind on tech support?

I agree with OldTrader. Eliminate the possible problems one at a time and you'll isolate the actual problem. I would've replaced the router first before even calling tech support. I've had multiple routers fail after 1-2 years of service. Good Luck!

    "Classic" IB tech support

You did a good job in making yourself look like an idiot. Tech support answered your question and you didn't like the answer so you come post here. That has nothing to do with the quality of tech support.

Honestly, Can You Be Successful Without a HUGE Account?

If you're short from 55 and cover at 53, how is that a loss of 2?

    wash sale

That's pretty funny! I needed a good laugh. You have no clue what a wash sale is if you're serious. Elect Mark-to-Market if you want to avoid the wash sale. "In general you have a wash sale if you sell stock at a loss, and buy substantially identical securities within 30 days before or...

How many times do you restart IB TWS per day?

Using Standalone 865.2, fine all day. Xeon 2.8, 1 GB Ram. Have 3 Real-Time Charts open at once. You better figure your issue if you need to restart it so many times.

    Taxes at IB

Yes, I'm getting 4 pages per 1 page of paper. It saved me the previous year when my schedule d was around 120 pages and I printed it on 30 pages. Look up 'duplex printer' on Amazon and you can find some $200 printers. But I would NOT buy a printer just for printing out tax returns. Check...

    Taxes at IB

I never really timed it but it's about 20 pages a minute normally and 10 pages a minute on duplex mode. I use a HP LaserJet 1320 as you can see from the picture.

    Taxes at IB

You cannot print both sides unless you have a duplex printer. The best thing you can do is print 2 pages per side reducing the pages by 50%. I attached a picture of my Printer Settings. EDIT: I just saved all 12 months into Excel Files. Imported all 12 Months into my $50 Tax Software...
