Need help understanding delisting of PBCB

I don't know how difficult any of them would be to borrow, but I suspect some of them are. I don't know if there's a way to "paper borrow" things but it's an interesting question. I'm just doing this in a spreadsheet right now. My experience with using an IB fake account in the past was that...

Need help understanding delisting of PBCB

I'm paper trading some short sales of Nasdaq stocks that are pending delisting. PBCB has now been suspended. In my paper trading account, no price is quoted for today. If this were real life, what would now happen to me? Do these stocks to to OTC trading or something? If there is a place I...

Help Yourself. Take the Personality Test

ENTJ, but just barely an E and just barely an N. I think I'm becoming more E and more S in my old age.

    3-6% ROI options trading system

Why don't you use a synthetic or a near-month, very DITM option? Maybe I don't understand what you want.

Which parts of turtle system have stopped working and which parts still work?

The part where you identify a system that works and stick to it through thick and thin, using proper money management/sizing, yes, that still works. There are many systems that work, but few people who have the psychological bent to follow them. An understanding of probability is helpful...

Paying for a mentor vs. Elite Trader Forum

Why don't you just do some reading and paper trade. Find a method that suits you psychologically and that you believe in (not one that someone else tells you to believe in) because that is the only method you will really trade (versus giving it up when the seas get rough).

Abby Joseph Cohen: S&P Will Hit 2150 in Five Months

What crap. Why do all these people keep prognosticating? No one knows where the market will be, especially AJC, who was wronger than wrong in 2008.

Greece asking for $59 billion now, yes more bailouts and absolutely no such thing as failure!!

I am not sure I understand all of these comments. But I want to say that people are not their government: not in the US, and not in Greece. We cannot always influence what our leaders will do once they are voted in. For example, I did not vote for George W Bush, but clearly a lot of people...

If You are long RUSSEL 2000 ETF (IWM) you are long at ....

You are right about the technicals. I have not seen a PEG <1 for years on a quality stock. So that is definitely looking toppy. Perhaps there are too many variables tossing oil around: the US discoveries, the Saudi pumpfest, the rise of electric vehicles, and the China fear. Or maybe it will...

Health insurances are going to SURGE 20-40%, when does it end?

But it isn't run by doctors and isn't going to be, so this is wishful thinking. Someone has to pay. That has to be you (personally pay the physician/hospital), the insurance company (which you pay personally, or indirectly if you employed) or the government (which you either pay or go to...

If You are long RUSSEL 2000 ETF (IWM) you are long at ....

I don't know if I can agree that large value is depressed on a valuation basis (although it is certainly going nowhere on a price basis). We still have very high PEG ratios and low dividend rates.

Yes, it was definitely you. Let me know what sort of candy you like. I'll have it on hand this year.

US is no different than Greece

Yes, this is exactly where the US government is coming from. The military is one place where they can siphon off young men with no education and few good prospects and render them psychologically impotent or worse, do away with them. They don't give a damn about them. And yes, it's only the...

Please don't do that. You'll slow down the entire Internet, and they need it to spy on us.

    Greece Factor

I feel sorry for the Greeks who have no good options. However, I'm a bit peeved that Tsipras is trying to tell them the EU/IMF/ECB is squeezing them. It is their own (previous) government's lack of fiscal responsibility that got them where they are.

    The horrors of losses

People are different kinds of traders, so I guess it depends. For example, I trade some longer term trends. I expect some losses. With such a system, twisting yourself into a pretzel trying not to lose results in cutting off winners too early. You are better off getting out when your trend...

If You are long RUSSEL 2000 ETF (IWM) you are long at ....

IWM may be overvalued, and surely some of the stocks in it are. However, it is possible to make good money holding stuff that everyone says is "overvalued." Overvalued does not mean it will not go up some more. And eventually, yes, it will come down (everything does at some point). I'll sell...

    IB maintenance margin calculator

Margin is almost irrelevant when trading naked options, because it is less than your potential loss. What you need to look at is what could be put to you or called from you in a volatile swing.
