    Bracket Trader- be careful!

In those 17 minutes you never noticed your stop order was still out there (in TWS) and that your position had actually not been reversed? It makes sense to always watch what is going on in TWS to avoid stuff like this.

    Aphie's REAL Trading Journal

The smart trader is doing something other than trading in that situation. The gambler attempts to capitalize on what he *thinks* he see's.

    Something very simplistic

My objectives were stated in my first post on this thread. I don't know that anyone "knows" if this is viable or not - I'd say that it is - but others might not. I didn't set out to prove or disprove anything to anyone - just to share this sort of system and discuss it and see how it turns...
  4. Q

    Something very simplistic

Actually, I think it is worth trading. Are there other ways that will make more money or be as easy to trade? Yes, I think there are. As someone said before, this makes a nice addition to the toolbox of trading systems. If not the exact system - the ideas behind it - the non-subjective...
  5. Q

    Something very simplistic

Does it work or not? Well, it met all of the objective I set out to meet, so I guess it works for me. What else can I say that hasn't already been said?
  6. Q

    Aphie's REAL Trading Journal

Aphie - Don't take this the wrong way - but what happened to that chart that worked like an ATM? Why are you not trading that chart?
  7. Q

    Something very simplistic

Sorry - I haven't had the time this week to keep this up. SVS is still going okay - thought I didn't look at it today - been working on something else. Not sure what else there is to say about this really - other than report results. Seems like the idea has been beat to death, and one...

Directly to the right of the "vote" button there is a clickable link that says "View Results". I believe if you click this it might show you the results...:D

IB telles me to "Be Patient" ?

Complaining about IB is like complaining about Microsoft. They will let you know if your complaint is valid or not.. :D

    Why Johnny cant trade..........

Hey, I'll take my (net) $7/contract/trade (on ES) on the average 14 trades that require me to work for less than 45 minutes total on average, at the exact same times everyday vs. sitting here all day waiting for "the big move" and hoping I catch it. But that's just me - and I'm sure there are...
  11. Q

    Something very simplistic

Yes, those numbers would be the average per trade per contract traded. Can you explain why those numbers would make it non-tradeable?
  12. Q

    Something very simplistic

Excellent. That makes a lot of sense. I'll work up those numbers. Thanks.

BTW - I forgot to mention that NQ is actually over 19 days, not 20.

    Son of Something Very Simplistic

No, sorry, it looks like I wont be able to start back until next week. I did take a quick look through it though and it looks like it might have been about a break-even day overall.
  15. Q

    Something very simplistic

Well, it's been 1 calendar month since I started posting the results of SVS. Part of me feels a bit disappointed mainly over the result of the past week or so. But the rest of me feels like things actually went well, and that I accomplished (so far) what I set out to do - have a purely...

    Something very simplistic

The day started off great - went downhill after lunch. For ES: +3.50, 16 trades, 10 winners, 6 losers For NQ: -2.50, 16 trades, 8 winners, 8 losers
  17. Q

    Son of Something Very Simplistic

I think I've found the "problem". Has something to do with the feed from the continuous contract symbol vs. the normal symbol. Using ES #F I have the "problem" - if I use ES Z2 i don't have any problem at all - they all align properly.

    Son of Something Very Simplistic

I tried that too - but it seems to only "fix" that first bar. The opens of the 2176T's don't match the opens of every 8 272T's from that point forward.
  19. Q

To SCALE or Not to SCALE a profit?

I completely agree with the benefit from the psychological side - as long as you don't end up net loser by doing it, of course. As you've probably seen from my journal thread, I'm hardly against "cutting profits"....:D
  20. Q

    Son of Something Very Simplistic

Yes, I've also noticed that myself. In fact, that may be a great method based only on the 272T chart. One thing I want to mention about the marking of every 8 272T bars to represent a 2176T bar - even though it logically makes sense this should be the same as looking at a 2176T chart - it...
