Can someone help me with my credit card debt?

Now that you've made it public, why do you think I left New York for Vegas? I'll never forget the look on my doctor's face as she extracted that fingernail.

Can someone help me with my credit card debt?

I see my attempt at humor has backfired. TruthSeeker, it appears you missed my point entirely. lundy started that thread and the poll asking whether bottom picking could be a profitable strategy, not trdrmac. However, by asking a total stranger (myself) to "leave the thong off", I wanted to show...

Trade Statistics: Which deviation to use?

 You may have been right about your source - the mean depending on the first moment of variance?! Hardly. This doesn't, however, diminish the explanation of average deviation which follows. Thanks for that. How large is the difference between the different deviations? For trading...

Trade Statistics: Which deviation to use?

Bruce, I think the distribution of the different versions of his name warrants a formula of its own. I found 9!! Tschebyscheff (Bernd's version) http://finanz.math.tu-graz.ac.at/~predota/history/mathematiker/tschebyscheff.html Tchebychev...

    NQ Trades

A couple of quick points : (a) While we still don't know your gender, notice how you have revealed your associate as a "he". Careless. (b) He was lying to you - what he did is only covered in Doctoring 201.

    risk management for day trading

My apologies - when I see expressions like "coin flip" or "50/50", I automatically think zero-expectancy. What you are referring to is a 50% chance of making £2X, and a 50% chance of losing £X, per trade. Now that's some coin flip :)

    NQ Trades

I elected to post screenshots of my executions in my journal for these reasons : (1) I was too lazy to give a blow-by-blow description, not that I had to - I prefaced my decision with the following : (2) I didn't possess the technical writing skills that you do. (3) My journal was of a...

    risk management for day trading

This is one outcome of 100 trades, selectively handpicked from a strategy that yields an expectation of minus £1,500, which are the commissions of course.

    Prop Shops

nitro, there must be a misunderstanding here. Retail at Broadway (and I presume all the other places) meant the standard 4:1 buying power, which was more than enough for my purposes. I didn't have a Series 7, so I couldn't join whatever it was you had to join to qualify for the extra leverage...

    Are Most Humans Saddo-Machistic?

As both an obsessive-compulsive and a masochist, I couldn't bring myself to make that correction. Thanks for the relief.

how does cnbc/cable news pick what stock go across their ticker?

Whatever the source or reason, I hope they've finally filtered out TESTA and TESTB, always good for a laugh as they scrolled across.

Unrealistic expectations or a bunch of market wizards?

PuffyGums, assuming the first part of your statement is true (about earning 1 point a day average), I don't see how you can reach such a conclusion given proper money management and discipline. Mathematical formulae are welcome.

    Multiple Trades Total Performance

From a quick glance at your data, it appears you are exiting the trades upon reaching a 20% profit/loss or 43 trading days, whichever comes first. Assuming that you "are not reinvesting the profit into the next trade" and that the "trade equity size" remains constant for each instrument, you...
