    NQU3'CM or NQP3'CM?

I thought we resolved this yesterday. If you want stress-free trading, use NQU3'CM as it doesn't show up on NexTrend.

    Globex, stops and fat fingers

Thanks Pabst for your help and patience. However, in the above case, when the market is down to 1003.00, my stop limit is converted to a limit order to sell at 1003.00 with a limit of 992.00, as opposed to MFF's limit of 993.00, so why aren't I ahead of him at 1003.00? Anyway, it's clear from...

    Globex, stops and fat fingers

Thanks for the reply, Pabst. So from what you are saying, is it correct to conclude that MFF has priority because his limit is lower than mine? In other words, had I had a sell stop of 1003.00 limit 992.00, my order would have been executed at 1003.00 before his? Also, which is correct ...

    Globex, stops and fat fingers

Surely not, Banjo. If I sell 5 contracts limit 993.00, they will execute at 1008.00, assuming the bid quantity is greater than 5. We've had these spikes before. As for the size of the order, assume he presses the "SELL 250 ES" button continuously.

In order to better understand how limit and stop limit orders work on Globex, I have found the following links to be of help : http://www.cme.com/get/abtglx/enterorder987.html http://www.cme.com/get/abtglx/matalgorit965.html http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19650...

    Adrienne Laris Toghraie Articles

Like marketsurfer, I saw her at the New York City Expo and also noticed how her booth wasn't surrounded by crowds like the others. Can you imagine having to acknowledge before the glaring eyes of your colleagues that you actually need help? I'm sure, though, that a few took her card and did...

    Handling Skepticism from Loved Ones

Brings back fond memories. I tried that same trick with my first FIL, taking him to the home of one of the best traders I know. As luck would have it, he was heavily short when his computer crashed just before a surprise rate cut. I got wise with my second FIL, telling him that, contrary to what...

Can anyone test the following strategy ??

I rarely use them, but I had a feeling that I should've inserted a :) at the end of my previous post. It prevents misunderstanding, especially among the newer members. abhay, don't worry, I'll share.

Can anyone test the following strategy ??

Not surprisingly, you still have left some details open or not fully defined. Never mind, I'll use my own assumptions. If you don't hear from me, it's either because : (i) I still haven't gotten around to doing it, or (ii) it turned out to be better than my current system.

Can anyone test the following strategy ??

Suppose that someone has already tested and optimized this strategy, and is currently trading it successfully. Do you think he would reply to your post? This is a rhetorical question only and should be disassociated with what follows. As others have mentioned, there are still parameters which...

How much $$ is required to be Scalp Day Trader ?

I see what you're saying and agree about using 2T in your case and for strategy testing. I was talking about "immediately" - no "wait, let it run" - in which case I can get 1T most of the time (assuming automated trading or bloody fast fingers). Now explain to me what happened to Carlton this...

How much $$ is required to be Scalp Day Trader ?

That's because I was gallivanting around Terra Australis long before you were born, cobber. I showed you how to do a round trip (2 sides) for 1T. It appears you are overestimating your "initial minus-sum" - please give an example of how you get 2T.

How much $$ is required to be Scalp Day Trader ?

This is a common misconception. In fact, if upon entering you wish to immediately exit, you will be down 1T (the spread), and not 2T. eg. bid=990.00 ask=990.25, go long at 990.25, close out at 990.00, loss=1T (ignoring commissions).
