I would say so. Below is the 1-day chart for FB, the red dot is the time I started this thread. That is a significant drop in a very short period of time. EDIT: This drop was also independent of the overall market. FB 1-Day Chart for April 13 :)

Set up a portfolio with : Google Finance and/or Google Sheets (stocks). Yahoo Finance (stocks and options). Pen & Paper (stocks and options). :)

IB provides free live quotes for: US markets (stocks, ETF's, and options). Canadian markets. Japanese markets. Futures. And I'm sure a lot more than the above list. All available through their browser based trading platform. :)

Basic real time quote data is free. The $10.00 inactivity fee is easily avoided by placing a few trades with a total commission of $10.00. No other hidden fees or mandatory paid services. :)

Options are a poor way to "hedge" a stock position. Too expensive to buy and too volatile to sell, that is why 99% of option traders have no intention of trading the underlying. :)
