    Day trading in Canada

Don't forget that Etrade and Schwab are American brokers. personally I don't think it's a political. This wasn't even an issue until Oct 2000 when the Canadian regulators decided to do what the Americans have been doing for years - demanding that Canandian brokers be registered in each State...

    Day trading in Canada

Almost all futures brokers accept Canadian accounts as well as Watley, Cybertrader, and a host of others. The only ones that don't are the big national firms. Realistically there is very little real risk to opening an accounts with these firms. Canadian brokers are so far behind the...

    Day trading in Canada

Thanks for the update def. The fact that IB has to get individuals registered makes the delays understandable. They probably have to have time to study/pass the Canadian securities exams.

IB has applied for registration in all Canadian provinces. It's just a matter of time now. Unfortunately it's been several months now even though the Ontario Securities Commission maintains that it only take s a few weeks to get registered. IB is saying 3-6 months. Hopefully the OSC gets off...

    IB and Canadians

Confirmed with Ontario Securities Commission today the IB is not registered in Ontario as of yet and that the typical time for registration is 3 weeks or longer if further documentation is required. It seems like this has drawn out much longer than that. Hopefully we get a resolution before...

I think all of the order entry + charts and data combo platforms suck out loud. MBTrading probably has the right idea with Navigator. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Can anyone address these problems w/IB?

"there are some that do but I can't release names" Any hints on figuring out which?;) Are they FCM's, IB's, both? are the using the front end only or using your back office as well? The reason I ask is that they would be a good short term solution until IB gets the OK to accept...

Well I must say that I'm surprised none are. Your platform seems to be the best of the bunch - for daytrading anyhow.

Can anyone address these problems w/IB?

Interesting. Do you foresee a time when IB's TWS will be offered through other retail futures brokers in North America? Or is IB keeping that market to themselves? Patsystems seem to be signing on retail brokers at a quick pace these days.

Can anyone address these problems w/IB?

Def, What is your view on Introducing Brokers in the online trading equation? With FCM's being now offering proprietary/isv platforms does an Introducing Broker have any usefulness to a trader other than referring the trader to his affiliated FCM? Also does Interactive Brokers have...
