Steve Jobs' health is in serious question. Without his leadership, AAPL will no longer be a powerhouse. A long term short is not a bad position. Just don't initiate until the technicals line up. I wouldn't be surprised if AAPL hits the 50s within a year.

RIMM is not a long term buy. But for today at least, I would think about being long. RIMM still has room to go down more if you want to establish a short at a higher level. I think their new products are crap and the increased competition is going to put pressure on their revenue prospects.

RIMM has already fallen over 100 dollars because the insiders already knew this months ago. And now the newbies want to start shorting? Look for the professionals to start covering. RIMM will be very choppy and will most likely move up.

Save your time and buy a copy of "Technical Analysis" by Kirkpatrick. All of this supposed AHG stuff is in there already, with a lot more useful info and better presented.

You can reach profitability in six months but you will require training from a mentor. Losing money will be your next best teacher so don't spend much time paper trading or being on a sim. Good luck!

Do not be so alarmed by the day to day fluctuations of your portfolio. You are being fooled by randomness. Dollar cost averaging and a long-term multi-year outlook will be your salvation. Twenty years from now when you're sipping pina coladas in the Bahamas, you'll look back on all of this...
