Madoff says losses of 50 Billion!

A lot more fund redemptions will follow after the Madoff scandal. Who knows how many other ponzi schemes are out there? I anticipate the markets weakening over the next couple of weeks. How could the Madoff fraud have gone on undetected for so long? I read that Madoff's sons turned him in...

Big Fight! De la Hoya vs. Pacquiao

Fantastic fight! It looks like speed and elusiveness can beat size and strength most of the time. Manny really beat the crap out of him. And Oscar pulled a "no mas" in the eighth round. They don't call him chicken de la hoya for nothing!:D

So if you blow out your account, they should let you keep trading and lose more? Is it supposed to be a non-profit company?

    Apple: A Major Short 11-28-2008

What is the predictive ability of overlaying hundreds of lines on a stock's chart? Obviously, some of the lines will show some resistance and support levels but the common man can't make heads or tails of entry points.

    tight stop really work?

You can minimize the market noise by choosing the right stocks and waiting patiently for the highest probability setups to trade. If you just enter any position in any high volume stock, then you'll be subject to a lot of noise and end up churning your account if your stops are tight.

Impossible to find a real pro with a real edge as a mentor?

Fibonacci. Elliot Wave. Gann. Darts. Standard deviations. Chicken bones. These systems are just as arbitrary as the next for picking entry points. It doesn't matter which system you use as long as you have sound risk management in place and know how to take profits.

    Apple: A Major Short 11-28-2008

The stock has dropped $80 since September. For the past two months it has been in a sideways consolidation pattern with a $30 range. It's gonna break out in one direction or the other very soon and I'll be either long or short depending on what the stock does. My personal conviction about the...

    Apple: A Major Short 11-28-2008

A stock doesn't know what price it has already come from. This is a bias imposed by humans with memories. Fundamentally and technically, the stock is a short and has a long way to go. Don't let the sell side analyst at Piper Jaffray fool you who has a target estimate of $235 for AAPL for...

    Apple: A Major Short 11-28-2008

Since 2004, December iPod sales have been steadily dropping like a stone. Why is this? Because sales have already peaked. One reason is that the iPod is becoming less a device and more a software application on another device. Every time I travel, I'm amazed at how few iPods I see, and how...
