Help me understand Time and Sales and large orders

A transaction at the bid is a buy for the buyer and a sale for the seller. A transaction at the ask is also a buy for the buyer and a sale for the seller.

    Sell Into The Rallies

That's true. Volatility is a day trader's heaven. Let the market prognosticators debate themselves until they're blue in the face!

Scalping for Profits: Stocks vs. E-mini Futures

Yes, TA and fundamental analysis are two different approaches for interpreting price action.

Scalping for Profits: Stocks vs. E-mini Futures

I'm more concerned with the level of volatility between stocks and E-minis. Since the age of decimalization, the noise has been very extreme in trading most stocks and it's easy to get whipped around and lose a ton in slippage. Is there less noise and better moves with the E-mini?

Scalping for Profits: Stocks vs. E-mini Futures

Yes, but TA lags the immediate price action that you can see from Level 2 and TOS. By the time the pattern manifests itself on the chart, it will be too late to make a decision for my style of scalping.

Scalping for Profits: Stocks vs. E-mini Futures

Hi, I'd like to start a discussion about a comparison between stock and E-mini futures daytrading. Namely, I'm a scalper who relies solely on price action and very little technical analysis. My trading style has always been to string together a lot of singles to end up with a profitable...

Looking for Prop Firm in Jersey City/NYC

Hi all, After taking a few years off from the prop trading scene, I'm about to make the full time plunge with my meager nest egg. I traded full time from 1999-2004 and was consistently profitable although my numbers were never eye popping. I've traded at Momentum Securities and Hold...

    The Palin Train Wreck Continues

I think Sarah Palin is quite hot. Unfortunately, it's a disastrous choice for the Republican party. Now I'll be forced to vote for Obama. Palin's only claim to fame is that she sold a state plane on ebay!

so many Traders are getting killed

.20 cent stops will kill any trader. They can't see the forest from the trees and this prevents them from catching any decent moves.

I still have to know a daytrader who makes money in the long run...

I beg to differ. Being factually right and making a profitable trade are two separate animals. It's all about timing and execution.

I still have to know a daytrader who makes money in the long run...

I knew many consistently net profitable traders. The problem was that they could make much more money at a 9 to 5 job with far less stress. What good is being net profitable if you're only pulling in $30-60K per year after commissions? That's why most of them are no longer daytrading.

Prop Firms (W/Salary) For College Grad?

What are you smoking? You got good grades at Carnegie Mellon (my alma mater by the way) and did internships at Lehman and Morgan Stanley and now you want to join a bucket shop prop firm? So you want to throw away a career path that could land you a mid six figure or possibly seven figure...

    Your help is needed please...

You can do any volume you wish. Just remember that the more volume you do, the more negotiating power you have to lower your rates. When you do low volume, then commission rates don't really matter that much as long as they're fairly competitive. But if you're unwilling to take your Series...
