    Ankle grabbing Bears.

Buy, buy, buy hairdresser!! Or should I say by-by-by! One day you might understand that there's TWO sides to the market and playing BOTH is a LOT more profitable than only playing the long side and seeing every "dip" as a buying opportunity.

Up 100 Points on a Google Miss.

No, I see both of them just fine. But there was no panic. Having been a trader for 10 years I think I know what PANIC is. Who cared if GOOG tanked after hours? It's ONE stock. The DOW was down about 10 points WORST case today and the COMPX down about 13 ... hardly a PANIC!!

What PANIC are you talking about? Did YOU have a PANIC ATTACK or something? You make no sense with your posts.

Being long through all the Noise.

What girls? The one's whose hair you do? As far as "noise" ... all I can say is areyoukidding? Oh wait, I think we've already figured that one out. You put out plenty of noise here with all your great threads.

    Rally from Hell coming

No "hairdresser" isn't new here ... do you remember "areyoukidding"? If so, look at the similarities in their posts ... lots of hot air and mindless drivel

How to deal with the fear of getting into positions

I don't think one should be trading if fear is the emotion they're feeling. It's one think to have a little anxiety but outright fear suggests that something else (such as a system, whether mechanical, intuitive or other, that is a crapshoot). I try to only enter a trade when I feel that the...

    IB or MB Trading?

Hint: There's a difference between a public company and a private company. Also, note that one of the co-owners of MBT has posted why they don't disclose financials. Now that's just another example of MBT being on top of things as far as "customer service" IMO.

    The bears were wrong

No, traders don't need ALL the bells and whistles. But anyone who trades through an online broker and has to wait 5 minutes for a confirmation is trading in the dark ages. There are a number of direct access brokers that are as cheap, if not cheaper than online brokers, where you get INSTANT...

    The bears were wrong

You don't need to catch all the move of a stock, either UP or DOWN! Yes, I shorted VTSS at $97. And I covered higher than the current $2.20 price. So what? Bottom line is I did quite well. Same with the others listed. No I didn't short them to the lows. Do you hold all your long positions to the...

    The bears were wrong

I guess you've not been around all that long. I shorted VTSS at $97 back in February 2000. It's now $2.20. INTC was $75 back in 2000, now $21. CSCO was $75, now $18. SUNW was $60, now $4+. And let's not forget about all the dot-com busts. ARBA was $1000, now $8. MSTR was $3000, now $90+...

An unbelievable story about the NASDAQ today:

Agreed, we all make errors. But you said you were filled at $150 on 100 and $151 on the other 100. You also said they were limit orders, correct? The fact you erred and had them as buys instead of sells is 100% your responsibility. But what I don't understand, and posted earlier, is WHY you...

An unbelievable story about the NASDAQ today:

I agree he got off easy too. Had the trade stayed at $150 he loses $25,000. From his post of losing $1000 they apparently changed the buy to $30. And the avg. daily volume is a whopping 600+ shares. Historical data shows volume is zero many days. http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=WBPRK Why...

    a PROFESSIONAL trading site

Silicon Investor has some good threads. But that, like many sites, has slowed down ever since the market tanked and all the "genuius" traders washed out. Like many sites there's a small group of posters here who seem to cause most of the problems with their name calling, posts filled with...

    Your experiences with MB Trading

A similar discussion last week covered this. My November statement was 3% and December is 3.2% Scudder MM Portfolio). I posted the November paid interest in an attachment to a post under "Low Commission Broker" in Retail Firms. The rate went up in December.

    Your experiences with MB Trading

Well all you need to do is fill in quantity for your order and hit Buy/Short/Cover/Sell for whatever the trade is. I don't think it can be much easier. Fill in a quantity and hit a button. You need to read before you post!! Where did I say IB's commissions weren't better? I said they're...

    Your experiences with MB Trading

For the original poster. MB is very responsive to questions and issues people post, both here and on SI (Silicon Investor). Customer sevice has been great in my 3 years there. Joey: I'd disagree that IB's platform is 100 times easier to use. Each trader is unique and has to decide for...

    What would YOU do?

Good points. I didn't go the mentor route for the reasons you cited. Each of us is an individual and you can't necessarily adapt to another person's style or approach to the markets. Only you know what you feel when you put on a trade. I found that I "evolved" as a trader as I learned more...

    What would YOU do?

Almost scary to ready your post! That was me 10 years ago. Engineer, corporate world, INTJ, worked 50+ hours per week, salary was approaching plateau, I detested corp. politics and bureaucracy, lived well below my means (but NOT at $12K/year), no debt, house was paid off, very self motivated...
