Yes, last week I was watching them and very often observed spreads, even on high volume etfs of .3-.4%. It's not always all day, but even if it's for an hour or two it's a killer imo.

It's mostly a "preference" thing. I wanted to learn on the bigger ETFs where there's only a few cents spread. That way I don't have to watch it move through the spread as I'm learning.

Interesting. Another question then. I was reading through some of the SSF forum threads and one guy complained about one of the SSF's not tracking the underlying stock very well. In your opinion, is that a problem with SSF's or did he just catch a little glitch in the supply/demand?
