    Please evaluate this strategy

Trading the equity curve looks really nice. It looks like your strategy goes in and out of favor for periods of time. You might want to check the correlation between trades by putting them into a spreadsheet and offsetting the trades in the next row by 1 trade. Then check for size of trade...

    Does money buy happiness?

Money may not buy hapiness but it sure is a good down payment. If I hadn't made it in trading my life would've been filled with busting my butt to try and get by. Without money, life sucks.

The annual % doesn't mean anything. That's just what's set in TS for testing. I've been doing research on systems that I hope to use in 2008. The default equity on my system was set to 1 mill. So far with this strategy I'm up 67% on a base of 325k this year.

    Please evaluate this strategy

No, I neeeded a particular level of income when I started. I adjusted my trade size based on where I was in the equity curve. That's why it's so stable.

    Please evaluate this strategy

The thing that jumps out at me is the lack of stability in the annual results for single contract. With the % profitable swinging between 32 and 60% I don't know how you could have much confidence in trading this in the future. Also, check the 2002 results closely to find out why the PF dropped...

    Comparable broker to Xpresstrade

Make sure you download .NET Framework version 2.0. They say earlier versions work...mine didn't. Also, if you're not on XP then upgrade to it. Windows 2k doesn't work well. Only thing I REALLY hate about OpenECry is their update/upgrade policy. They don't tell you in advance. You just try to...

How much do you stick to your strategy?

My systems are tightly defined. I always follow the rules with the exception that I take no trades on FOMC days. Learned not to trade those days the hard way. I'd like to completely automate my systems but the real world doesn't seem to be too accommodating. For example, if I want to exit...

Are you STILL excited/happy with being a daytrader as the day you first started?

After losing my job I thought trading would be a exciting venture. Been trading realtime for 3 1/2 years. Nothing exciting about it. It's like standing around a ATM machine on a timer. About once every two weeks I hit a new equity high. Just need a successful plan and then work it. Most days I...

    Is your trading improving?

I've done Monte Carlo sims for 1 month, 2 months, 3months...out to 12 months to achieve my goal. To be on track my p/l at the end of each month must be within 1 std. deviation of the mean return expected at that time to achieve my goal. So far...so good. My returns are pretty steady throughout...

    Is your trading improving?

Haven't changed anything. Just compounding my returns. On track for a 500k year up from 300k last year. So yes, I'm improving.

    Great non-trading trading books...

This is a great PDF I found. Unfortunately (lol), it's related to trading. http://www.tradelabstrategies.com/customers/tradingstrategiesrev2.pdf

    Flat out 2006

Been reading some of the complaints about this journal. I agree with them. This is a self-serving journal and really adds no value to the ET community. Now that I have the structure the way I like it, I think a aptly placed notebook will work just as well. If I feel the need to act pompously...

    Flat out 2006

Day 19 Very hectic after the Fed meeting. Today my use of the modified Martingale mmgt sizing kicked in and saved me from a bad day. Was down all the losing trades ($8,430.42) before the last trade became a winner to save most of the day. I hate it when the market doesn't have a clear...

Software/Hardware needed to trade after the FOMC

Open E Cry's latest upgrade was designed to avoid lagging. Today Esignal was lagging badly while OpenECry kept up perfectly.
