I like IB for futures/stocks, but for forex i cant use them, spreads dont start to stay tight until around 7.30am LONDON TIME, yesterday around 6am LON TIME on the GBPUSD the spread was consistently between 7 - 12 pips wide; i cant trade of that; futures currencies are the way to go imo.

skalpz, why do you trade the forex vs the futures currencies? how many pips per month is acceptable for a active trader doing 20 - 40 trades per month? im up 215pips on 3 trades since monday morning so far, is that good? thanks.

if 90% of volume is from 10% of traders and it is a zero sum game, does that mean for every big winner theres a big loser? and if not, how do all the big boys stay alive i.e. who are they feeding of?

in my opinion i would not trade CFD's full stop. not at a retail level anyway.

I traded with CMC for over a year and i strongly recommend that you DON'T TRADE CFD'S WITH ANY PROVIDER, stick to the underlying and don't get sucked in by all there window dressing. there is a reason why the owner of CMC is a billionaire.

i think any trendfollowing system that has a 50% win rate is suspect because it will most likely have a very tight exit, which curbs milking those outliers. anything above 25% i will look at with most being around 30-38%.

nickelscalper, why are you so fixated that trends must be predictable to be of any worth, it is all just numbers. take 100 random stocks below $10. in 1 year about 3 - 5 of them will have risen over 100%, using a 10% stop loss the rest is just slop and the outliers is where you make money...
