How did you lose that much coin in a short period of time while keeping "winners much larger than losers"? Either you broke that rule and let your losers get much larger than before or the widely known discipline of keeping losers smaller than winners (with low win rate) is a load of crap and...

Not exactly sure, but I know some prop traders like highly liquid low priced stocks with good volatility to trade. There leverage combined with CHK low price allows for BIG positions, sometimes a stock like this becomes a PROP FIRM favorite...therefore crazy volatility. Just a theory...

Semantics? Not all rises in price is an uptrend...not all declines in price is a downtrend...degree is issue? Do scalpers need a trend? If price spikes briefly because of one player unloading a position...is that a trend?

I always try to keep in mind that the "industry" of trading can't SELL the art of trading nearly as much as the "science" of trading, and this explains which of the two will be promoted the most...be cautious of that. For my methodology, it would be difficult to quantify an "art" to "science"...
