    Anyone else stuck in TNAV.

Did you see the news at 8:00, right after the post market closed? They came out with all kinds of headlines saying the change in the GM contract won't affect earnings.

I was short just 1000 shares for a nice little scalp within the range at 5.87. It literally got halted within 2 minutes of my entry. Not a big deal, but I might be in this awhile.

((N*(N+1))/2 vs doubling at every level when an index falls.

I'm sorry. I'm pretty good at math, but I feel like an idiot right now. Can you lead me through this?

((N*(N+1))/2 vs doubling at every level when an index falls.

In other words, if an index is at 100, and I want to buy a fixed amount at every 10 dollar price decrease, I can calculate my risk by using the above formula. Start at 100, add 100 at 90, add 100 at 80...etc... But what if I want to double my size at the same price increment. 100 = 100...

    Only after reading your posts.

I wish I would have gone into the military. This is really boring.

I work out quite a bit, and I'm fortunate to be in excellent shape at my age. I've done the tinder and Match.com thing, and I've had some fun. But my mother had a stroke just after Christmas and it was a rough go for awhile, and I just wasn't in the mood. But she is doing much better, so...

I can't stop thinking about this. I guess this is the type of response I was looking for. I know depression is common when it gets super cold outside, and there is little to do. But I was just being a whiner. I especially like the last sentence in your second paragraph. Probably because I...

Wow. Plenty of harsh replies. But they all make sense. Thanks for the wake up call.

That hurt, but I guess I needed to hear it. I don't mean to be a whiner. I have a lot going for me. I need to get up off the mat and go after things rather than waiting for them to come to me. And dealing with shit with alcohol has to stop. I think that's the heart of the problem.

Yes, it helps. I am A. I am usually done trading by 10 AM central. I just need to find something to fill my free time to make me feel like I'm making a difference. I appreciate the guys who are done trading after a couple of hours, and go golfing or ride dirt bikes the rest of the day, but...

Maybe I'm just not making enough to do good things with it.

That's not what I mean. I agree with Sig. I'm just looking for something more meaningful. Trading makes me money, but it's stupidly unfulfilling.

No, I know what he means. It's not entirely analogous to trading. I don't have to trade until I'm confident with my entry. When you're landing in a storm or in a dog fight, it's a tad different.

I went through that phase many years ago. Mitsubishi 3000 GT. Sold it after a spin out around a back road corner in Wisconsin doing 90. Oops.

    It's 12 degrees here. It's a heat wave. Tomorrow it's 35. I'll actually get a lot done outside. It'll be good therapy.

This is also a great post. I am proud of myself. I have done one trade in one stock all week, and it was a small winner. I am coming off of an absolutely horrible year personally, and i want to make up for it with financial gain. Bad idea. I'll gradually get back to where I was.
