Executives at AB Watley being investigated

You're right. Remember COCO? The Nasdaq took from the little guys because of institutional "trader error".

    Why Use Prime Brokers?

Depends on the prime broker... BofA was willing to take anyone on, even for a few hundred K in 1999. Why would they do that? Number one, to take 6 cents per share on every trade and number two, the possibility that your pathetic fund would actually turn into something great. Another poster...

    Make Or Break (MOB)

Has anyone been able to emulate the MOB indicator from AGET? Apparently, it uses the momentum and ratio of previous swings to make its projections.

    tampa's Revenge

You are an honest person. Why would you participate in an intellectually dishonest forum? Here's what I mean. A chat room is a social gathering. As with any other social gathering, people put their best foot forward. When you go to a party, you meet up with your neighbor, and she tells you...

Are there any Lady Traders on ET? How do you trade, what are your strategies?

Surf, it's the PC thing to do. Gee, if I had a female trader, I'd be making sooooooo much more money. Of course, we all know it's corporate bullshit that's infected some of these poor traders' minds, or possibly multiple viewings of Oprah. Fortunately, the hedge fund world is still survival of...

    Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Journal

Don't use an absolute float value. You should look at the ratio of average daily volume to the stock float and then sort by high ratios. Then you can participate in the liquid, as well as volatile, issues and eliminate the illiquid issues where the trade slippage is a higher percentage.

    Official GOOG prediction poll

    I love when the Nasdaq looks like idiots. The NASD says these trades are invalid, and of course CNBC is milking it with their own brand of sensationalism. A hilarious chapter! *** 11:38 *** 135.909 200 135.909 150 *** 11:41 *** 140.909 150 *** 11:42 *** 140.929 200 140.929 150 :D

    Quadriga Superfund - Managed Futures

I hate the fact that "hedge fund" is becoming such a buzzword with the public. For that very reason, we don't list with any of the databases and keep a low profile, strictly a word-of-mouth operation. We shut up and trade, and we're thankful that most will never hear of us while we grind out a...

    Quadriga Superfund - Managed Futures

Yup. Keep the strangers out, limit your LP's % of their net worth, give your LP's an open door policy, and kick out the assholes -- you'll be dumb, fat, and happy. You can almost fire the lawyers, but not quite.

    Activate/Deactivate System?

Another idea is to apply technical analysis to your equity curve. The equity curve in and of itself has pullbacks (drawdowns), it has a moving average, etc. You can devise a position sizing algorithm that adjusts trade size based on your confidence level, i.e., your confidence level and...

Is the US government perpetrating criminal fraud with the CPI?

Great post. Washington is surely on the path to implosion, and it's going to be fun watching them turn from predator to prey.
