    Google employee lives in truck

Good luck raising a family or getting an attractive woman to marry you living in a truck. Also, I wonder what Google's policy would be if a few more guys started to park their trucks and live permanently on their campus??

MCD is in big trouble. May not exist in 5 years

All time highs.... Fading ET bear calls would almost certainly be a market place edge, IMO.

MCD is in big trouble. May not exist in 5 years

This is true for pretty much the entirety of the service economy. A really high percentage of people that work in some of the lower skilled trades like restaurants, retail, hotels, low-end construction and many others are subsidized by the government. I tend to think the true numbers dwarf...

2 stories that signal top of rental and housing bubble

If landlords can get kids to work 50 hours per week to live in a closet-size room, more power to them.

Mutual Funds Face New U.S. Rules for Preventing Investor Runs

Always beware of those from the government who show up to "help you"

Do investors need to worry about Greece’s election on Sunday?

Agreed. No one cares if Greece stays and goes any more. They are insignificant, and freaking out every time there is an election in Greece going forward, will not help.

What is the best way to hedge a long SPY position against a future market crash?

I would sell ES in approximate amounts to what you have invested, with the second option of going 50/50 as you said. I would maybe sub EDV for TLT, but that's a minor point. At these levels, I like that allocation a lot better than 100% SPY. That's more or less where my allocation currently...

A hot new theory is being passed around for why the market crashed last month

Why do they invent new reasons for market volatility? Is a 10% correction something that didn't exist before risk parity funds? People have gotten so used to zero volatility that they need to invent a boogeyman to blame a minor correction on.

jeremy siegel says this is a "temporary correction, not a bear market", no way no how...just buy

Unlike the doom porners, bulls are right a lot more frequently than a broken clock. Historically bulls are far more right than wrong.

    R.I.P. - Don Bright

He seemed like a really nice guy on ET from what I could tell. 65 is very young to go.

jeremy siegel says this is a "temporary correction, not a bear market", no way no how...just buy

Volatility is good for people who think they can gain an edge by timing the market. I for one hope we see more frequent corrections, and more severe. Great time to shift money from cash/bonds into stocks for the long run.

Another day another pyramid scheme, it never ends....

Thanks for your concern. Again, these are mostly acquaintances, and these are high income stay at home moms for the most part. Countless is obviously an exaggeration, but the fact is these pyramid schemes function by selling people a dream of running their own "business" without the structure...

Another day another pyramid scheme, it never ends....

I've seen countless acquaintances get involved with these. Primarily they have been my wife's friends, or the wives of my friends. Seems like a lot of stay at home moms think there is a free lunch out there by selling useless stuff to friends. I'm pretty sure none of them have made any net...

Pension funds in China now allowed to invest....this is out of control

The amount of 401k/IRA accounts that have futures or options trading privileges is probably around 1/10th of a percent. No one with a 401k at an employer has such privileges. You have to apply for a self directed IRA at one of the few brokers that allow futures IRA accounts.

    Economic Collapse this fall?

We certainly could be in for a correction/crash, but I would bet 95% of all doom porners that continually get ready for SHTF and conspiracy theories die with a lot less money and more anxiety than those that DCA into the market and stay invested.

Donald Trump would be richer if he'd have invested in index funds

I would think most billionaires don't beat the indices. You already have your wealth. All you have to do is beat inflation by 1-2%/year and you're still getting richer. Know when you've won the game and understand your risks.
