Does IB or any Broker Offer Risk Controls for Traders?

Does any broker allow traders to set risk controls on their account as in: if you loss a certain amount per day you get cut off (can't place any more trades), or you can take positions only up to a certain level (say $50000 in stocks or 500 shares max or 4 contracts max in futures). I know...

    Dow Jones 13,000

Monthly close above 11000 very important imo. In feb it broke 11000 only to be rejected and close below that level by month end. I think March close is very important as it is also the close for the quarter which sets up the next 3 months.

    Men Wanted for Hazardous Journey

"Men wanted for hazardous Journey. Small wages. Bitter cold. Long months of complete darkness. Constant danger. Safe return doubtful. Honor and recognition in case of success."* A good description of the trading profession when recruiting a newbie. *Recruitment ad for Shackleton's...

    ES Traders

I don't want to diddle in the middle. Furthermore, if the breakout is real and there's a tremedous amount of volume and momentum then I won't short it, I'll go long. But I suspect the momentum will dry up soon after the break. Now to my question what happens if I have a position and the...

    ES Traders

If the ES breaks 1300 I'm gonna short it and hold on to the short position. My question is when the futures roll over in March, what happens to my position? Get's liquidated? Or rolled over to the next contract?

    Economy In Crisis

Our national debt is not as large as other countries in % terms relative to GDP. The site makes no mention of the vast amount of capital, resources, and companies that US firms own oversees. And our money is still worth far more than most currencies. That being said....

Yes shook out at 1120. Long at from 1148. All indexes will take out the feb highs so that the feb lows don't get taken out.

    YM Traders

Do you guys see an edge in the overnight trading of YM. I think I see one. Buy/Sell the extremes overnight and cover in the morning. Fade the gap essentially. What are the trading hours for YM btw. I looked it up on the webiste but the info is presented in a confusing format.

    There’s a Balance to Everything

Cut losses short – and you rack up a ton of small losses and huge commissions/spread costs that bleed your account. Eventually big wins come around to save you. Eventually. Use wider stops – and when you lose you lose bigger. Therefore you need much bigger wins to break even. Trade...

Will the S&P hit 1300 in February?

The Dow has only closed above 11000 twice on a monthly basis. Feb close important, I see a selloff coming. Furthermore, if the Dow can't breakout to new highs it leaves many support levels vunerable in the next bear market.

    Breakout or Breakdown?

Yeah I regret selling too. Market sending too many mixed signals.

    Breakout or Breakdown?

Tossed position at 1148. Looks like S&P wants to get rejected at 1300 and the Dow at 11200. Will renter there for an intermediate term position.
