Do you short term traders like to hold overnite?

Never hold overnight. The exposure for my intraday scalping style is too large and putting up a hedge just adds cost with no benefit. I don't mind missing the overnight action.

Tax Question -- Joint Tenants in Common

There are many ways to save and do so legally. I don't really like accountants like Green Trader because they tend to be very conservative at the trader's expense. I use an accountant who only handles traders and has some of the biggest players in Chicago. He has been in it for 35 yrs and knows...

Which CNBC Hottie would you go Long?

Come on guys... this is going to turn into one of the Pam Anderson threads. Let's stick the CNBC subject. I'll better the inside bid by $1 and will lift any offer for 100,000 shares on Melissa Theuriau. I bet she spends a lot of time at Cote D'Azur (South of France beaches) with a tan like that...

Which CNBC Hottie would you go Long?

Amanda Drury? Any takers. P/E ratio is relatively low given the attention she is getting here and there is a lot of margin left for a higher on the upside. She covers Asia and will be more relevant as the years go by. Any sellers? I will lift the offer if I see it.

Which CNBC Hottie would you go Long?

Don't push your luck buddy.... I think she can do some serious squeezing from the size of her.

    Making DVD's from recordings

OK. My version of Nero didn't have that. I downloaded the trial on the new version to try it. I will check back if there is still a problem. Thanks.

    Making DVD's from recordings

With Nero, it asks for .IFO, .VOB or .BUP files to be added to the VIDEO_TS folder when I use the wizard. The files I have are in MPEG. Am I missing a step? Thanks.

    Making DVD's from recordings

Hi folks, I use SnapStream Beyond TV to record Bloomberg and other financial shows. They are stored on a harddrive and are in MPEG format. I would like to be able to watch these on a regular DVD player. Obviously copying them to a DVD-R doesn't work because they have to have a special format...

    What exactly does ignore do?

If you are referring to the AreYouKidding? threads, then I'm with you and I just added him to ignore. I'm starting to find that I waste a bit of time on this garbage. Hopefully, it won't send me notice when these guys start threads as well. Bummer if Late Apex is right about the thread starting...

    For those using Camtasia...

I would start first by recording your open trading book only by selecting to record just that window unless you really need the other data. If so, then the other suggestions might help including reducing your color depth and resolution.

    Market Potential

Ripley, This question is too broad and this is probably why you are not getting an answer. This is a lot like asking if you should buy a car with an automatic or manual transmission. It depends on a whole lot of stuff including your style, skill, duration in trades, size to be traded...

What percent of traders are consistantly profitable 5Y minimum

Electric, I responded without seeing who the originator is. I assumed it was someone new who wants to gauge his abilities with everyone else's, hence my post. I read my post again and it comes off as offensive. That wasn't the intent. I wanted to point out that one's own history is the best...

    Ultimate LCD setup

I would look at this from the perspective of "how long will you be comfortable with a 19" when it will become what a 17" is right now?" I'm a practical trader. I would still go for the 19" because it is so much cheaper than the 1" it gives me in the 20". The higher resolution is great, but for...
