Not sure why youre addressing this to me. All I said was Im surprised he did not mention 9/11/2001 in the article, the inference being that fear became a constant in market prognosis from that time forward.

The reason I like to trade ES is that you can forget about letting your winners run. Everybody preaches about letting your winners run and if you can figure out how to do it I guess you can trade anything but I found it extremely difficult to do, consistently. The only thing I watch is ES and YM. The indexes, stocks, Advancers, Decliners, Ticks, Trin, etc. ad infinitum usually follow and are useless as far as I can tell, when trading either on a very short term basis. If anyone can demonstrate otherwise I will be happy to eat my words.

I trade BO's all the time. I just noticed the last couple of weeks my winning percentage on them has been higher than usual, ergo my statement.

Its always changing. Lots of action all day lately.

Trading is one of the most erratic income professions there is. Get used to it.

If you have access to teachers who are making money by whatever means who are willing to teach you, you need to put your preferences aside and take advantage of it.

Instant executions. The ability to set up strategies and have them run flawlessly. The ability to quickly make changes in that strategy when neccessary. The ability to close posititions with a click of a button. Oops. I already have all that. IB and Buttontrader.:)

I know nothing about api and programming but awhile back for the heck of it I downloaded the sample from IB to play around with and it was fairly easy to get quotes with it.

Theres another thread along this line that was a riot but I cant remember the name.:(
