An update in case anyone else runs into this problem and does a search in the future. I have been running three days now on the previous version of Java and it has not stalled once. I have no idea where the conflict was.

If the futures had gapped up this morning I would be looking short. As it is I wouldnt get in too big a hurry to short early.

I am using a dialup unfortunately but it works pretty suprizingly well. Speed of execution is not a problem for me but this freezing is definitely a problem. This morning, however, I have not had any problems so now I really suspect the new Java version.

When did you start trading? I dont see how anyone starting trading in the last two years could have "longitus". I have the opposite problem. I dont want to go long. Its not a problem in this market but probably will be IF we get back to a bull market.
